Change fahrenheit to centigrade on AC/External? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi

I picked up my new '07 MDX sport on Saturday, replacing my '03 BMW X5 4.4.

Slightly fewer buttons to push, but nearly as good to drive in the bends, and *much* more comfortable cruising along a freeway :)

The one thing that's driving me crazy is the temperature displays. I'm British, recently relocated to the US, and I still can't get my head around fahrenheit.

Is there any way at all (incl. sweet talking my dealer!) to change the displays (external and A/C) to degrees C?

Everything else is configurable, but not this?!

Thanks,
Alistair

Yes, I believe so.

Check prior threads on"temperature"

There is a sequence of buttons to press which gets you into the program to set temperature and the mileage computer.

It permits you to "adjust" the temperature reading up or down by 9 degrees and "adjust" the range, i.e., miles left to empty by up or down 50 miles.

In that set up, you should be able to switch to Celsius (I think)

I found stuff in the forums for 06 and earlier models, but I wasn't convinced that this would work on the new navi system with the 07 models.

Are you talking about the Menu/Map-Guide/Cancel button press "hidden menu"?
JeffK
Yes and in fact most of the posts were for the '07.

I asked how to do it for the '06 and the instructions were very similar.

Good Luck (When I go to Europe I have to relearn the Celsius system so I know what you are going through!)

So, I went out to the parking lot on the way to grab lunch.

I found the hidden menu, but there's nothing in there to change temperature units that I can see.

This has to be possible.... maybe changing to car to "Canadian mode"... anyone know how to do that maybe?

Yes, it is possible. It's no longer in the hidden menus. Try either:
1. Reading your manual (gakkkk!)
2. Pressing Setup button and going through the options. I think it's in "Basic" or System settings.
But more important, you're in 'Merica now. Be "Merican! Tell somebody it's 28 degrees over here and they'll bundle up.

lol. I'm trying hard to adopt 'merican. I enjoyed the fact that my green card paperwork told me now was time to learn English ;)

So, it's not in the book. It shows it in (C) for Canadian mode, and (F) for US, but no way to change it.

I can't find it in the nav menu, if that's what you're referring to? (Basic etc)

I assumed it was some funky menu somewhere to put the car in Canadian mode.

Interestingly there's no 24 hour clock option either ;)

Some info for reference. I had trouble getting use to Fahrenheit as well.

10 C = 50 F
20 C = 68 F
30 C = 86 F

Easy conversion:

Double the Centigrade and add 32.
