At about 3000 miles, I noticed scratches on my front windshield on the driver's side. The scratches (3) all have the same path as the wipers wipe the windshield. I viewed this as a warranty issue which was probably caused by defective wipers or glass. The dealership, the district technical manager and Acura all said it is caused by something else like rocks and sand getting under the wipers.
Is anybody out there with 2007 MDX having problems with scratches on the front windshield? |

The only time I have seen this happen is when rocks or sand get under the wipers or if there is an area where the metal of the windshield wiper touches the windshield. Since it was looked at, I assume there was no contact between the wiper and the windshield. The wiper touching the windshield would be a warranty issue, sand and rocks would not be. |

Now if a rock hit your windshield, it would be covered by the comprehnsive portion of your physical damage insurance, probably with no deductible.
But don't you go and commit insurance fraud by hitting the windshield with a ball peen hammer, now! |
