| I was wowed by my recent test drive of an 07 g35x. I'm in the market for one with nav and premium package. This is a sweet ride. I compared it against an Acura TL Type-S and the G35X flat out crushed it when I did back to back test drives. The best quote I got so far is 36,245 before taxes and tags. Do you think that is a good price? |

| That is a pretty good price. Enjoy the G! Its one huge hell of a car! |

That's funny I just bought a G35x after my wife got her new MDX. Interesting comparing the 2;
1. I like the Nav on the Infiniti better, and voice control is more intuitive (only have to push the button once, not multiple times like on MDX).
2. Infiniti backup camera blows the MDX away, better resolution, easier to see in the sun, or dark and has guidance bars on the screen.
3. MDX has much better seats, and is more comfortable in general.
4. G is MUCH faster!
2 great cars and we are very happy with both.

Lol, Our garages will be the same once I find a good deal. My wife's MDX is black on black, and I'm going to get a black on black G35X. I hope you don't mind me asking, but how much did you pay for your G35X and with what options?

| Since the G35 Sport and X model are almost the same price, I'll tell you how much I paid. Got a price for $35k with all packages axcept 4 wheel active steer package. $36k is good for A G35X. What packages are you getting? |
|

| I also did look at the black exterior, but then I saw the red and completely fell for it. No regrets about the color, or anything about the car for that matter! |

I'm just getting the navigation and premium packages. I don't think I need the tech package. I haven't found the MDX rear view camera too useful so I figured why get one in the G. Do you know if the bose system plays dvd-a's? I loaded up on them for the X when I get to drive it. I'm not too sure if she and the baby will enjoy the enhanced sound of metallica and bob marley lol.

A guy I work with just got his 07 G35X and the sligtly new styling and new mags are a large improvement. In fact, I did not care for the 06 sedan. That said the coupe was and still is a beauty. |

I got it fully loaded, Nav, Premium and Tech, for $37,350, and additional $500 for rear spoiler, total of $37,850. I bought mine through the Nissan VPP program.
I would suggest for the additonal $1k the ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control) alone is worth the price. It works great. When you consider you also get a rear camera with indication of where the car will go based on steering wheel angle and adaptive front lights it is worth the extra cost IMHO. |

| Thanks for the info guys. If I can get a good deal I may try to get one with the tech package too. Sounds like it has a better rear view camera setup than the MDX. I saw a blue slate G35 on the interstate yesterday and am now torn between that color an black. Grrrrr. |

Couple of guys at work have the Slate and it looks nice. I can say, when the black is polished it looks awesome, but is very sensitive to swirls, which is only regret with black. If this bothers you, and the upkeep to keep the black looking good seems daunting I would get the Blue Slate, seems to show surface issues less easily. |

Just keep in mind that the X has a wiper back there, the G does not. In the rain, that makes a difference when you're backing up.
Also, note that the G35 will be replaced by the G37 so now is probably a great time to get a great price on a 35 as the dealers try to clear them out. They're great cars, enjoy! |

The G37 will replace the G35 only in popularity when it comes out. G37 is the coupe version and will not replace the G35 which will remain the sedan version. I'll bet the G37 coupe horsepower numbers will make it into the G35 within a few years. I think the 306 HP in the sedan is more than enough for me. I contemplated waiting for the coupe but now that we have a baby the sedan is more logical.

Sedans are always a wiser buy than a 2-door coupe. Still, that doesn't stop the G35 coupe lust.
I was also looking into the M35x. Schweeet. |

If you need the room the M is a very nice car. Just beware it does not have the updated 306 hp motor the G has. M only has 275 hp. |

Congrats!
My wife and I have fought over driving her G35x since we got it in '04, and she finally let me trade in the minivan I was driving (she couldn't be caught dead in it) for an '07 MDX in April. I love the MDX, but still take the G out whenever I can for that rush of acceleration!

I have been thinking about getting the 35X ever since I got the X back in March. I just love my TL but have never driven the 35X yet. By the sounds of it, I wont be disappointed I guess.
I would love to hear a comparison from someone who now owns a 07 35X and used to own (or still does) an 05+ TL after having driven both for awhile. |

I drove the Type S version, which I have been told is a lot rougher ride than the regular TL. The regular TL and G35x might be the same in terms of comfort. But in terms of power and putting it to the ground, the G35x wins. I think the 35x is 100% rear wheel drive until there is wheel slippage whereupon up to 40-50 percent of the power is transferred to the front. It's called the Attessa system. The power in the Type S is nice but its put to the front wheels only. The torque steer is bad, especially in the automatic that I drove. My forearms were sore after a 30 minute drive. I heard the 6-speed manual of the Type S has some kind of limited slip mechanism which might help on the torque steer. It also tested a .94 g's on the skidpad by motortrend which is indicative of excellent handling. Too bad the Type S didn't win me over. I just found a manual one in Massachusetts for $31K.
Best is to give the 35x a test drive. You'lle see. The Infiniti dealer here offered to let me use the car for a whole day. I declined as I was already sold on the car. I don't know about the reliability of nissan engines though.
