Hello all,

I have owned the MDX since February. I love the vehicle except the RADIO!! The reception stinks. I took it into the dealership and they checked out the radio. They gave me a background CD stating they pulled up an identical MDX and had the same reception issues. Of course they state that this means there is nothing wrong with my MDX. Honestly, prior to owning the MDX I had a Camry and never had reception issues. I live in Chicago and 103.5 is a very powerful signal. So powerful that if I use my Zune FM tuner on a plane I get reception at 10,000 ft. Funny thing is in my MDX I get static.

Is anyone else having this issue?

:( Sorry to hear about your radio reception problems.

I live and work in the NY/NJ area and bought my MDX in January. Except for recent XM service disruptions, I haven't had any problems with my radio.

We just traded our 04 with a 07 and live in Bartlett.

Reception was usually bad in our area even with my stereo and clock radios at home. It gets better during my commute to Chicago for FM channels. With the 07, I'm still on the 3 month XM radio trial, so FM radio doesn't get much use at this point anyways.

If its consistently bad, I would suspect the actual antenna might be bad or cut.

This is the exact same thing I'm having a problem with. My XM subscription ran out so I started using the FM radio... very BAD reception. AM and XM have no problems at all.

On the FM band, it generally occurs when I'm moving... usually stationary it's harder to detect. But when you do hear it, it's annoying and prevents me from cranking the radio up.

I tried the dealer as well and they simply said all MDXs are the same and have "bad" reception.

Is this acceptable from a 45K (semi)luxury SUV? I'm thinking of trying another dealer and/or driving the "tester" 2007 MDX to see if I can still hear the problem. Let us know of any updates please!

Glad I'm not the only one hearing "static" on this issue.
