First time poster...
I'm in the market for a new 2007 MDX with Sport and Entertainment Packages. I've been negotiating with the dealership and received the following offer last night. It seems wierd so I thought I would bounce it off the experts on this forum to see if I'm getting the runaround...
Here are the details from the dealership...
2007 MDX with Sport and Entertainment Packages
$43,752 (Invoice including destination)
$79 (wheel locks)
$229 (charge from service to clean and detail the car)
$149 (charge from Service for pre delivery inspection
-----------------------------------------------------------------
$44,209 (Total dealership claims they own the car for)
$500 (Profit they are willing to make on this deal)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
$44,709 (Price not including Taxes and Tags)
Does this seem fair? Thanks in advance! |

According to Edmunds.com, http://www.edmunds.com/new/2007/acu...s.html?action=2
The invoice for a '07 Sport with Entertainment is $43,995.
Your price is $44,709.
That gives the dealer a profit of $714.
The best that has been posted on this board in the North East is $500 over invoice.
You are within $214 of the best price.

Thanks Jeff!
I also thought it was a good deal but I was skeptical when they listed the $378 in charges to clean and pre-inspect the vehicle. |

If you're happy with the deal, that's all that matters. But those charges are fancy ways to get a few more bucks for "Dealer Prep"--watch for Document Fees, undercoating, paint treatment, and other scam charges in the final deal, since this dealer likes to hide his profit. |

I'm from CT as well. I bought mine near Hartford and my dealer did not charge for cleaning or prep...did you buy it yet?

| Take a look at the sticker right under TOTAL VEHICLE PRICE, it says "includes Pre-Delivery Service." Sounds like the dealer wants you to pay twice. I hate when that happens... |
