Recently installed the OEM hitch and electrical harness and kept the (at that time) unused spare wire harness that attaches to the brake controller. As luck would have it, I now need to hook up an “electric brake controller”. Does anyone have a clue where the wire harness (supplied in the OEM kit) attaches to, under the dash or in the rar of the vehicale.
The supplied installation instructions show the harness with this as an explanation “Subharness Information”
This subharness is designed for use with an ELEC brake controller. Refer to the user's information manual for detailed information about using this subharness.
Thanks

Not sure if this will help or not but these are the instructions from Tim's site:

Sometimes the included instructions leave a bit to be desired. Good luck! |

I have not been able to find out where that extra harness hooks up.
Even the service manual has no info.
I believe, however, that the 7 connector trailer socket already has the electric brake controller included as one of the pins.
The "extra" 4 pin electric brake harness may be only if you're using the 4 pin trailer socket. |

The seven connector contains a 12 volt plus to power up the brakes but I don't believe it doubles as a controller. Due to the inclusion of the separate harness in the OEM hitch.
