| I noticed the other day as I was walking into my garage that the rear and front bumpers are a different color than the rest of the car. The bumpers are slightly more beige than the rest of the car. Please everyone with this color check your car, and let me know if it is the same as mine. This seems a little strange? |

The 1st gen silver had this same "problem". You really had to look hard to notice. |

Bought mine in Alberta, Canada in March, same thing here. The 2-tone is really obvious when it is all clean.
Even dead-drunk you will pick it up. |

| Paint does not adhere or cure to plastic and metal in the same way. So unless an adjustment is made there will always be a difference. |

Sorry Bud, GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan.......Yin Yang all have painted plastic the same color for decades. No reason why Acura can't. |

Hey Bud,
GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan.......Yin Yang all have made the adjustment, as i mentioned in my first post, to the color for decades. Obviously Acura didn't and i never said they couldn't. I explained the reason for the difference.
What? Do you think they mixed up a separate color to ensure a difference??? They used the same color and made no adjustment as I stated.

| Will Acura stand behind it and do something to fix this? I did not pay close to $50,000 for a car that has paint does that not even match. What other colors do this? Or should I say, "have this?" |

You really should have rejected it at delivery if it is that noticeable. But what Acura will do is compare it to others of the same color on the lot. If they are the same as yours it will be declared a "Characteristic" of the vehicle and not a defect. If yours is significantly worse, they will likely pay to have it repainted. According to the Acura local rep I spoke with about the paint problems on our 2003, Acura has a large budget for after delivery repairs - but there has to be a defect or scratch that was done in manufacturing or delivery. |

This is not true, well for at least Nissan. I can personal attest to this color variation on my 1991 Nissan Maxima. The front a rear bumpers were slightly off compared to the side panels. |

| I had a lexus in Diamond White Pearl, and I am positive that matched perfectly. It is an almost exact color match too between the cars. |

I noticed a difference in mine also,I really
dont think it is that big of a deal though.:( |

| The reason the paint on the bumpers does no match perfectly is that the paint on the bumpers has a FLEX AGENT in it. So when it gets bumped the paint will not crack. |
|
|
| is300sam |
| Do all of the colors have a mismatch then? There has to be some way to get a match. It is not a real big deal, but I feel that there needs to be matching paint throughout the car. That is just a simple standard for me. I am going to the dealer soon for a service, and I will talk to them about it there. I will let you know what comes of it. |

For the amount extra that you pay for an equivalent size Lexus, you probably deserve exactly matching bumpers in the Lexus. For most vehicles, the bumpers are painted seperately from the vehicle due to the added flex agent so there will always be some mismatch. Lexus may spend more money on color matching or they may even color match components. If auto companies were able to cost effectively feather the bumper color into the fenders, you'd never notice the mismatch - just like a good autobody shop. |

The color mismatch on all "pearl" paints is a known, however, the white pearls are more noticeable. Aspen White Pearl on the 07 MDX and White Diamond Pearls on the TLs and RLs are pretty much the same paint; next time you are at your dealer, take a look at the other cars and you'll see they all have the mismatch.
It's not something you can catch normally when you purchase your car, the excitement just overtakes you. Also, your eyes just don't pick it up because it's something you don't expect to see. Everyone learns to live with it, and over time, it actually looks pretty cool. |

I have the same problem with the mirrors and the bumpers. SA admits that Acura has "problems" with this color white. I'm waiting for the third set of mirrors to arrive.
The bumpers do not match, but Acura does not want to repaint the vehicle, nor do I want that either.
If you go to any Honda or Toyota dealer, you will not find mismatches like this on the bumpers or mirrors.
They need a TSB on this problem, and also on the whistling sound when the Recirculate button is ON. |

| Didn't know this was a problem with the aspen whites ....so I just went to the garage in the freaking cold weather (paranoid much?? :p ) to look at it since I never saw this problem with the two color look etc... and to me it looks the same as the rest of the car ...no difference in the bumper or side mirrors ...is this another early compared to late 07 thing again ?? ..:8: maybe someone with an 08 aspen can say if they see the problem ..because i don't see it. |

Maybe not Toyota, but you will with Lexus -- well, at least that's the case with my neighbor's pearlescent white SC430 (the bumpers and lower cladding are discolored relative to the rest of the car). Same thing with my brother-in-law's refrigerator white Taurus SHO.
