On my 07 MDX Tech there is a clicking sound shortly after take off and when stopping, right before complete stop. I can't figure out the source, but it appears it comes from underneath the drivers position or a little to the front.
Any ideas? Transmission? None of the "reported sounds" on this forum describe the sound I'm hearing ...;)
TIA

I have the same noise since new and it has not gotten better or worse in 5k miles. I have read othoers saying it is the brakes and pretty common on these trucks.
If I break gradually it does not happen but anything more than that I will hear 1 to 3 clicks with the same number on takeoff. In addition, going into reverse will pretty much cause the same noise.
I have had the truck since December. |

It is realy hard to pinpoint the source for me, but I don't believe it comes from the wheels (brakes assembly). Also why do I get the sound on takeoff when no brakes are applied? Have you talked to your dealer about this?
Thanks

I will bring it up with the next oil change but since I have heard others with this noise and even today noticed my 2001 Accord makes a similar noise when braking (no click when starting) I feel it might just be a Honda thing that is common.
There were some posts about sway bar links and I have tried to spray some telflon oil (super lube) on then but it made no difference for me.
It is slight enough that unless you listen for it, most will never hear it and for the most part 410 watts of audio can drown out most noises. :) |
