Good evening All -

Long-time reader. Wanting to know if any of you would consider purchasing a brand new MDX with hail damage that the dealer had repaired by dentless professionals. The price is $39,440 + TT&L. I looked at them today and checked out two that were ready for pickup. Repairs were unreal, but trim in certain places would need to be replaced from my perspective.

Give me your thought!!!

Thank you.

It depends on your budget. Hail damage typically is only cosmetic, so if they can offer a good deal then go for it. BTW, what model (base, Tech or Sport) were you quoting?

The model was a TECH. The dealer would do all the repairs. What I'm not familiar with is the dentless repair process. Would there be any long-term problems (i.e. rust, cracking, etc.) with the paint after this process has been completed? Dealer indicated that they would stand behind the repair. Would you make the purchase at this price?

No, I would not. When I buy a car, I want to be the first one to put a ding in it. Pride of ownership is an important part of the purchase for me.
And the price sucks. The reduction is not worth the disappointment to me.

I just had 3 dings taken out of my wifes car. Amazing job the guy did. Went to Dent Wizard locally. As long as the paint was not damaged (chipped, cracked, etc) you should have no problems.

I agree. The dealer would have to knock a lot more off the price ($39,440 + TT&L) on this MDX Tech for me to consider it.

$39k for a damaged Tech is a lot. I paid $39k for 1 with no damage! Go for at least $37k.
