35 Chiropractor, just bought 2007 MDX SPORT ENT. Bought it for my Attorney wife, 31.
Needed the third row as our family is expanding. I think it is absurd the size of children's car seats today. Take up way to much space, not to mention all the other crap that the kids require you to haul around.
How do people in compacts make it?

Not everyone can afford a $50K midsize SUV like you can. I've seen several couple that is together well over 500lbs squeezing in their toyota tercel or honda civic with no problem. It is just simply getting use to.

Yeah, but the reality is, who the hell would want to do that...

Hi LionSpeed,

I posted this sometime ago.. I got it installed when I bought my X last Dec. From what I understand, it's only available in Canada.

It's nice to be young, well at least while it lasts. :)

Heat00. Since you've gone through some (somewhat) tough time with your new X, I would like to contribute a little "relief" especially for you. I happen to have some extra ativan laying around... we sure can start you with a small dose ...

Interesting thread... I must confess to being surprised at how young the average age of X owners seems to be skewing. Certainly in my neck of the woods, you don't see many folks under the age of 35 driving these things , though to be fair, in my neck of the woods the average cost for a tiny a two-bedroom apartment in a so-so building is $1.5 million and kindergarten starts at $15-$20K/yr. As such, $50K cars aren't a top priority for young families trying to figure out how to make the mortgage/maintenace/school payments (and for those who can swing it easily, well they're driving Range Rovers, Escalades and Mercedes GLs). Of course there's always leasing, I suppose. How much is the lease rate for an X?

Regards,
Adam

PS - My stats? Age: Old enough to know better, young enough not to care. Occupation: A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

PPS - I wonder what this thread would look like on the Enclave forum? :12: Just kidding...

We are a family of four. Two boys, one 5 years old and the other a newborn.

Our MDX is a 2008 Canadian 'Elite' in Dark Cherry Pearl. The MDX was purchased to have more room to carry around all the 'stuff' my wife needs for the infant.

Our family loves to go skiing and with all the equipment and 'stuff' we can fill up this SUV to the max.

The MDX replaced our Infiniti G35x, which was the best winter car I have ever driven. The MDX is good in the snow, but the G35x was really good.

We live in the country side outside of Montreal. Great place for the family, with lots of snow in the winter.

I am in the international software business and have been since the early eighties.

Our other cars are a VW Jetta TDI and a Porsche CarreraS. The Jetta is a fantastic car and a great compliment to the MDX. It just goes so far on so little fuel. The family will drive about 60,000KMs a year and the Jetta takes the bulk of those miles/km.

My user name comes from the fact that I am a father, more than my age (I hope) :)

So far the MDX has met all our expectations. It is a great SUV offering luxury and reliability. After two months of ownership, the only major shortcomings of this SUV is the plastic wood on the dash and the lack of keyless entry.

We are too a family of four. Two girls, 6 & 3. They particularly prefer my MDX over the Lexus ES350 because of the spacious, higher, more visibility, & entertainment system (2 head rest LCDs).

You haven't revealed your age yet. I assume you're in your late 40's.

33 year old electrical engineer.

My wife is the same age and is also an electrical engineer.

She was in software and electronics and has since moved on to a technology management role; I am in electrical power side and design/manage for a small manufacturer.

We have 2 daughters age 3.5 and 7 months.

Sold an 03 Honda Element, good utility and spacious, but only 4 seats, 800lb payload and underpowered with 2.4L 4cyl.

The MDX is mine, my wife drives a 05 Mazda 6 Sport wagon. It has a 215Hp V6 and is quite sporty in character. But with over 12" height difference between me and her, lack of memory seats and mirrors is a major pain, so we don't switch too often. She loves having the memory positions in the MDX when she drive and only has to adjust the center mirror.

My wife: 28 year old dental student, she graduates in 2009.

We traded in my wife's beloved 97 integra when we bought the MDX. She loves driving the MDX way more than the integra. I enjoy driving the MDX, but enjoy my car a lot more.

Even though we are getting a good mix of people here, we all need to be cognizant that this is not a sampling of all MDX owners. This is a sampling of MDX owners that are members of our site. I would expect the average age of this group to be lower than the average age of MDX owners in general.
