I'm thinking of purchasing a new MDX. I have seen nothing but glowing reviews of the car. My problem is, everytime I see an MDX around town (Kansas City) I notice that the driver of the car is a woman. I am a fifty plus male.....do I need to look at something else for my vehicle purchase? I lot of the posts I see on this forum make reference to the MDX as "my wife's car", etc. The 2007's seem to have a slightly bolder stance than last year's model. Am I wrong that Acura has also noticed this gender trend and has purposely tried to toughen up the 2007 version?

You could say the same for Lexus RX330. Who cares if it doesn't look manly (ugly) like a Chevy Suburban.

The reason that you see mostly women driving the X is that they get the better of the two cars in the family. This is certainly true for us. I drive the Honda to work on weekdays, but the X is mine on the weekend. She drives the X during the week days while getting groceries, hauling kids, etc,.

The solution for you is:
1. move to a different town, or
2. change gender so that you will fit in, or
3. start a new trend of male drivers by buying one and driving it.

And this is a problem for you why? Seems to me that if you like the MDX, you should get the MDX. It's a great vehicle for men and women. I'm curious as to your list of manly vehicles. I'd bet there are women driving those too.

I drive whatever it is that I like. Does not matter to me the preception that vehicle, or whatever, gives to others. Not my problem what they think.

the other day I saw a older lady driving a '07 z06 vette, so a mans car or a womans car means absolutely nothing!!

if you like the X go for it ~ it is a very nice suv :D , I have a '02 and love it, Im a man btw lol, I cant emagine what a '07 must be like :roadtrip:

I'm not trying to convince you that you're wrong, but ...

For what it’s worth, I’m a middle-aged man (currently single with no children)
who believes the MDX is for people – men and women – who want a high level
of style, design, utility and performance in the vehicle they drive.

I agree with rrcompton ... if you like the X, then go for it!

You don't need a new car, you need therapy.

If I see 10 RX's 9 of the ten will be driven by women. If I see 10 MDX's 5 are driven by men.

My wife loves MY X, but she only gets to drive it once in a while. She only likes small cars, but for some reason loves driving the X.

I bought my 2003 as a 50+ male and my 07 as a 60+ male.

Agree you do see a lot of womne driving the MDX (my wife drives ours), but that is true for Sport Utilities in general as in most familes with kids, the wife has car pool duties in most cases. I do not think there is a more masculine styled SUV out now, except for the Hummer, so this would not bother me in the least.

"Man up" the X by putting on bells & whistles like the roof rails, cross bars, sport boards and front/rear garnish.

One of my wife's friends told her to tell me, they couldn't imagine me, driving an, ahem, "8ytch Car".

I was offended.

But...

Oh, forget her! I like my MDX. I have an F-150 too!

See, I'm a man!!! Dammit!
