I've noticed a rattling in the rear (Like loose change) over bumps on my 2006 for a few months now. After tightening every bolt in the rear suspension (Shocks, Control Arms, Etc.) I came up with nothing! I started with a rubber mallet to hit lightly around the top part of the shocks, and noticed the sound coming from around the rear backing plate from the rear disk brakes. I removed the rear wheel and found that the backing plate has no bolts to it so I decided to look further in. I removed the rear caliper, caliper braket, rear rotor, and Voila! there I noticed that the rear Parking Brake shoes were making the noise AGAINST the rear backing plate. (looks like the 2 hold down springs are NOT strong enough to keep the shoes tightly against the backing plate) I removed the parking brake shoes, cleaned the 6 mounting tabs the shoes rest on, I cut 6 small pieces of Duct Tape and placed them on the 6 mounting tabs, applied small amount of White Lithium Grease on to of the small duct tape pads. Before I re-installed the parking brakes I stretched the 2 round hold down springs just a bit (Not too much, just enough to have MORE tension to keep the shoes tight against the duct tape pads) on the backing plate. I re-installed everything back and road tested the vehicle over bumpy roads and noise is GONE! In summary I believe the 2 hold down springs that are used to keep the shoes against the backing plate are too weak and cause the rattling. The addition of the small pieces of duct tape will create a barrier between the metal shoes and the metal backing plate.
This has worked for me and I wanted to share my experience with you Guys and Girls!

| Good to hear that you'll able to find the culprit.. ;) Well, I've experienced it too, but it turned out that something was wrong with my acura brakes and it needs a replacement. after the said replacement, problem was solved. :) |

It's Good to know that your problem was corrected! My vehicle only has 6K miles and the parking brakes are still brand new! I was starting to wonder if I was the only member out there with this problem!
Thanks!
