| I am planning to buy a used 2006 MDX this weekend, it has 15000 miles on it. I just want to confirm with you guys that the manufacturer's basic 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty or 36 months is transferable to me automatically since I am the new owner of the car? |

| Unless you're talking about remaining warranty, the standard Acura warranty is 4 yr/50K miles and 6yr/70K for the drivetrain. And it should be transferrable. |

Yes I am talking about standard warranty and happy to know it is 4yr/50K and not 3 yr/36K as I thought. I also heard it is automatically transferrable and I dont need to do anything explicit for it when I buy the used MDX.

Yes it is tranferable. Note, you are confusing the Honda and Acuras warraties. |

We just sold our 05 TL and I contacted the dealer about transferring the warranty to the new owners. The dealer stated that the warranty is assigned to a vehicle and not an owner, so you could sell the car 50 times and the warranty would still be in effect. :)
I assume the same would apply to the MDX. :confused: |

Prior to doing the deal with a private party I called the local Acura dealer and gave them the vin. Found out where it was originally delivered, the delivery date, that no warranty work had been performed and that there were no outstanding recalls.
After purchasing the vehicle (2005 MDX) I called Acura at 800-382-2238 and transferred the warranty into my name.
