I just got my new MDX a month ago. I'm having trouble playing discs of saved mp3s in the CD changer. The folders and song lists are there on display, but only a few seconds of each song is played. When I put the same disc in a regular CD player, it works fine!
Any tips?

what software did you use to burn the cd? MY X did this with the first disk i made thru itunes, but i made a second using itunes and it worked fine.

This raises an issue that is seen in many places--the consistent ability, or inability, to play MP3 discs. As soon as you are asked "what software was used to burn the MP3 disc?", you know you're in trouble.

I have never played an MP3 disc on anything, and don't intend to. I play regular CDs, listen to XM, or run an MP3 player into the AUX jack. It's been my view that MP3 discs are not ready for prime time.

I regularly play mp3 from dvd in my 2007 MDX. I've used iTunes to burn a disc, but I didn't like that it put all of the files in the top level, so now I just use Nero to burn a data DVD with my normal data hierarchy..

I have 2 DVD+r DL discs in my MDX that account for about 80% of my music.. it took a while to decide what 20% I was going to leave behind, but now the ipod can live in the other car forever.

A trick I read somewhere was to put a short (2 second) silent mp3 in the top level of the DVD's directory structure.. the name of that mp3 is the name of the disc in the audio screen.

It works great, I couldn't be much happier.. I thought it was flakey at first with the flat directory, but I think it was having troubles with 1200 songs in one directory.. the new disks with the hierarchy work beautifully!
