I already posted this in the 01-06 X forum but thought it might good to post it here as well. The Treo 755p works flawlessly with the HFL so far. I'll update if I run into any problems.

Just upgraded from a Treo 650 to a Treo 755p for my 07 MDX and the pairing process was great, except that only incoming calls come through the hands free link system. If I dial out from the phone it doesn't go through the hands free and I have to use the phone itself...my 650 worked great.

Any thoughts or advice.

I have an 05 so I probably won't be of much help. I didn't have any problems with setting mine up though. It works great. My wife says she can't tell a difference when I'm on my phone or talking through the HFL. Have you tried clearing the system and deleting all phones and starting over from the beginning? I would try that and see if it works.

I have cleared the system twice and re-paired multiple times...thanks for the response.

Prodigy7,

Could you please check something for me on your phone, if you have a chance...

I am out of town right now, so I can't see if this is the problem...

GoTo Preferences (in your "Home" Menu), then Hands-Free, and see if the box that says "Always Route Calls to Hands-Free" is checked....mine was not...

If anyone else can verify that this boxed must be checked for the hand free to work properly, I would appreciate it...thanks.

I checked my phone and the "Always route call to Hands-Free" box is checked. Hopefully that is what the problem was. Keep us posted.

I have the same problem w/ the Treo 755P and 06Acura MDX, can anyone help??
I had the Treo 650 until now with no problems at all. I know very well how to delete old user/account and how to pair the system still with no luck.
The phone does not receive or send calls trough the HFL.
PLS HELP>>

well, I just tried checking the "Always Route" box, cleared the system and re-paired and reset and I still have the same problem...at least I can hit the HFL button and say "transfer" and it starts to work, but it's a step I shouldn't have to take...

Any other suggestions...thanks.

Do you have Auto answer set to "Disable" in the Hands-Free preferences? Also, my device is set to Hidden in the Bluetooth preferences. I don't know why that would make a difference but I'm not having any trouble with my 05 and the 755p.

...just spoke with Acura Hands Free Link Customer Service and they say that the Treo 650 software was written so that the default setting for outgoing calls would Route to the Hands Free system automatically and the 755p software was written to allow the call to remain private and with the phone only.

There are other 2007 Acura owners who say the phone and the system work perfectly, so I don't buy their reasoning that there are different software versions of the 755p that allow it to work for some and not others...

Bluetooth version...?

Could anyone who has the hands free working poperly please check their Bluetooth manager Version...in the Bluetooth app > Menu > About Bluetooth Manager

Mine is v. 3.1.2

I am grasping at straws here...

Thanks,

Interesting update...so, I was on a phone call, stepped into my car, turned the car on and the call automatically transferred to the Hands Free Link System...so the system will automatically transfer when receiving a call or on an existing call, but will not work if making a call using the phone ( it attempts to connect, as I can see the headset icon on the phone for 1 second) and the call remains with the phone...

I had the same luxuriance like Jbell just said, I was on a call, got into the car and the call got transfered to the phone, no luck otherwise to pair.

on a lighter note...

Has anyone successfully exported contacts from the 755 to the MDX phone book?

I just bought my MDX 07 today and I have a 755p.
I have the same problem.

works great on incoming, on outgoing if dialed through HFL, but NOT if dialed from the handset. I too had to hit the button and "transfer". Kind of annoying. worked fine in my 2 infiniti's.

Have any of you found a solution to this?? How can the 650 work and the 755 does not??

I hope I am missing a setting but I don't think I am, especially after reading this thread...

I guess it could be worse. Maybe when a palm update comes out it will fix this issue somehow?

Thanks for any advice.

Here's what I learned:

Acura HFL said that there is a privacy feature enabled within the Palm software that does not allow the phone to automatically transfer calls originating from the phone (an existing call will auto transfer after turning the car on though).

Palm said that there is a privacy feature embedded within the HFL software that does not allow the phone to automatically transfer calls originating from the phone.

Acura dealership said that most phones, with the exception of the treo 650 and another???? do not allow the phone to automatically transfer calls originating from the phone.

Who do you believe? I side with Palm since most phones won't allow the auto transfer, but why is the 650 special?

Unfortunately, no one can answer the obvious question: why does the 650 work perfectly? It doesn't make sense that you can't make a call from the phone and have it transfer automatically...the driver should have the option to make it a private call.

You'll get used to saying "transfer". I'm not happy with it, but if I want a phone other than the 650, I have to live with it at this point...

thanks...

thats a weird feature..... kind of sucks..

they all have there problems...

In both my infiniti's they would show the wrong number of the incoming call, they would show the previous number and they claimed it was a "safety" feature

so I guess saying transfer isn't so bad or just dial from HFL...

maybe they'll come with a fix for it later....

It does seem like the 650 was the best overall phone... you would think the 755 would be much better in these categories....
it is nice though now that I have active exchange working!!
