| I was readjusting my passenger side air vent and to my surprise the little piece that you use to do this just snapped off into two pieces. I am not sure exactly how to get it to snap back on, but if someone is familiar with this, it would be of great assistance to hear how this is done. Thank you. |

If it popped off, it's probably broken. There are tiny little tabs that hold the two pieces together. I have an '03 and had the same problem. Dealer stated that they have replaced quite of few of these. I think they're about $45 as they replace the whole vent, or so I was told. I am out of warranty so I just pulled the vent out, used a couple of drops of super glue and I was back in business. It's been a year and still holding great.
You can pull the vent out easily by using a coat hanger bent into a hook. Grab the vent from the inside and pull. It just pops out. Don't use a screwdriver as it will mar the vent and/or dashboard. better yet, if under warranty, let them replace it. |

Mine did that yesterday! Same thing, but on the driver side. I will super glue it since I do not any warranty left.

I will get out the glue and do some surgery tomorrow.

I am the proud new owner of a new to me 2004 X and couldn't be happier.
Although, when test driving 5-6 other X's I couldn't help but notice that there was at least one broken vent tab in every one. The car I got had two broken and a third broke the day after purchasing. I took it to the dealer and they replaced all 3 no problem. |
