Help! I have a 2006 with NAV and RES and want to add a tvandnav2go converter to allow me to (via toggle switch) display whatever is playing on the RES (either DVD or AUX) on the front NAV screen. I am about to order the converter with the Plug-N-Play wiring but I still need to figure out which feeds behind the audio unit or dvd unit to tap into for the second video feed (the first being the NAV unit itself). I believe I don't have to worry about audio as that will be handled as usual with the DVD or AUX selection that the RES uses.
I've read through the many threads referring to similar plans for different year MDX's but have not been able to figure out exactly how to do this for my 2006 as it appears the pin-outs have changed. The closest thread I could find was http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...&threadid=25523 but I couldn't determine what the final answer was for my particular year. RedHerring apparently had the exact same question as I that started his thread but I don't see that he succeeded with his install.
Can anyone help? Or at least point out what I may have missed in another thread?

OK ... so maybe no one has tackled a 2006 conversion. By reading the same posts on related conversions again and again, I'm wondering if there even is a single video feed that I can tap into to get whatever the audio unit has selected between DVD or AUX. I have found pins 7 and 22 on the 30-pin connector on the back of the audio unit ... are those purely the feeds coming from the AUX jacks in the rear of the MDX? I have also read (but have not yet seen myself) that there are similar colored wires on the back of the DVD for the DVD output. I had assumed that these somehow ran into the audio unit to allow it to switch between the two feeds (DVD and AUX) but then I assumed that there would be a single set of wires coming from the audio unit to the RES carrying that selected signal. Or do both feeds go to the RES and the selection is made at that overhead LCD.
I am now so confused ... can anyone help? |

I do plan on ordering the Electronic Troubleshooting Manual as I can see it as a good long term resource. I was hoping that someone that has either experience doing a similar conversion or maybe just has info on the proper pin-outs to see if what I want to accomplish is even possible.
Hopefully someone can share the info! I'll be sure to document my success (or failure) for the next poor soul who is stuck :) |

Alrighty.
From the ETM, it looks like both the Aux video and DVD video come to the audio unit (the reverse camera goes to the nav). On that same 30-pin connector, the following go to the RES:
pin 2: video (BLU)
pin 3: shield (BLK)
pin 17: ground (RED)
And that is the only video signal going to the RES, so I would assume it would be the selected one.

Jim
Thank you so much for the info! I will try that connection tonight and report back on my results.
