We bought a 06 MDX Premium one -- the "naked" version. Now we start to get the feeling that a in-car NAV system might be a nice-to-have thing.
I don't want to get ripped off by the local dealer. But just not sure if this NAV system is DIY-able or not.
Could somebody give some guidance on how to do it/where to buy parts?
Thanks a lot!! |

| You're asking a LOT on a DIY. Just look into the aftermarket. I have a Garmin Nuvi 360 which I use in my Ridgeline. It's quicker than the factory unit in my MDX, portable (can move it to ANY car), Bluetooth capability, and fits in my shirt pocket. Cost less than $500. There are also other makes out there which might also serve your needs. You can also have an aftermarket in-dash unit installed. Lots of options out there. Let us know what you eventually do. |

| That's the best advice you're going to get on here. I have an 05 with NAV and a Garmin and the garmine gps has many more features and you can take it with you when you travel. Get one of the Nuvi models and don't look back. you won't regret it for a minute. |

Thanks my friends.
Just take a look at eBay Motor, the 06 OEM NAV system is $1999, crazy. Sounds like the portable one should be my choice then... |
