Ok, here are the results of the fender flares installed on the Billet Silver. I know some of you were dead set against the idea, but I think the results are ok.
I also installed the roof rails and out of curiousity tried the Yakima bars I had from 2 vehicles ago (Exploder Sport Trac). Low and behold, they fit perfectly, including the fairing. I didn't even need to trim the bars or the fairing.
With everything installed, the MDX seems to have a more sportier look.

Looks nice.
It's amazing how "incomplete" the MDX looks without at least the roof rails and sport running boards ... it's like a new house without any flooring installed or a computer without keyboard. ;-) These aren't just accessories IMO, they're missing elements which really finish the product.
Wonder why US-spec models don't get headlamp washers given they're required on Canadian-spec models (i.e., both North American distribution). |

You're right, it seems like they leave some options out on purpose just to make a few more bucks. I know that the US base models are about $10-12k less expensive than the Canadian base models. So for that $10k we get the headlight washers, rear heated seats and the handsfree phone. Just so that they can jump through some legal loopholes since the models are not 'exactly' the same. Fair trade my a$$ :)
BTW - I enjoyed your photos, very nice! |

| I was looking at your pictures and I noticed the square looking bump underneath your headlights. Do you know what those are? |

| How is the wind noise with sunroof open with that Yakima deflector there? |

All opinions...
I like the fender garnish.
I don't like the headlight washers so for that I am glad I got a US model.
I am glad they don't put running boards on standard. While they look fine, I don't like them functionally since they get my pants dirty as I try to step over them. As a clean car nut I also find they are hard to keep clean (the boards, not the pants). |

You're right about the running boards. When I get out, i'm not sure if I should stand on them or step over them. They do add the finishing look, (obviously stolen er.. I mean inspired by the X5) but as you said and I've learned from my last car, they are indeed a dust collector.
As far as the headlight washers go, I doubt I'd ever use them, especially since they have a separate button to run them (next to the VSA button). At least in my Audi, they'd automatically activate when you activated your winshield washer if your headlights and wipers were on.
I actually haven't driven around with the Yakima rack and fairing on. It's a little weird because the MDX rack starts so far back. The fairing actually ends up behind the sunroof. I'm not sure how usefull it will be for deflecting wind. I think it does give it a sportier outdoor look though.
So.... after all those accessories, seems I have a whole bunch of stuff that looks good but might be questionable when it comes to practicality. Maybe that's why Acura decided they were 'optional accessories.'
The one thing I do like is the backup sensors. I had them on my Exploder Eddie Bauer and have come to depend on them.
The one accessory that I miss is the remote keypad. It allowed me to unlock/lock the vehicle without a key, useful for that quick dash into the Quickie Mart or for the winter warmup idle. |

| I am glad to hear that you are happy & satisfy with your fender garnish. May I suggest body side molding to be added to your new X. |

don't tempt me.
... anyone got pics of the side molding? hehe.
I'm actually paranoid about my first door ding.
Think I should add more accessories? I don't want it to look like a made a trip to the local autovalue and stocked up on cheesy accessories. . . although I have my eyes set on those naked woman mudflaps. :P |

yes, I remember seeing your post. one of the few blues out there.
Does the moulding actually offer some protection against doors? My guess is that people's doors would probably hit a little higher up. |

| The molding does not offer protection aginst a lot of cars. Especially backseat door which are usually cut out to fit around the wheel well, so they go right about it. The previous model MDXs would leave all kinds of dings on the 07s with the body side molding. I have almost left a few, so that is how I know. |

| I think you asked it well. They will offer "some" protection. It depends on the dingers door. I also think it will help with shopping carts. If you look around many other sport utilities have them: it is a very common look. No-one has ever asked me if I added mine on. |
