| For the life of me I can't get the voice recognition to recognize (yes, that's an oxymoron) "phone setup" when attempting to pair my blackberry!! I've tried for over an hour with no luck and figured I'd get the service guys to help out when I'm at my dealer next time, but figured I'd check here to see if anyone has had a similar problem pairing a phone for handsfree. Any tricks to get it to work??? I've just about had it.... |

Try this. I had the same issue with my Blackberry 8100 Pearl and this seemed to work. First make sure the bluetooth is enabled and turned on in your phone. Go to your phone and get it ready to Pair (don't go any further). Then on the X's hands free system, go to phone setup and have it pair your phone. As it begins to search, click on your phone to have it try and pair the same time the car is searching for your phone. This will allow it to detect your phone and ask you to enter in the code you set to pair the phone. To make it easy on yourself, set your code to something easy to remember like 1111.
The same issue came up again when I tried to import my phone book to the X. Even though I now had my phone paired to the handsfree, the import phonebook feature still could not recognize my phone as a compatible phone. So I did the same thing. I had the import phone feature look for my phone while I pressed the pair button on my phone at the same time. Phonebook was detected and imported. No more issues now. Hope this helps. |

Seems like that would work, but the trouble I've had is with getting the hands free to recognize the voice command "phone setup". It just doesn't seem to know that command. As close as I've gotten is for it to ask me what I want to setup.
Is there another way to select phone setup other than through the voice prompts? |
