I'm picking up a Nimbus Gray w/ Taupe Sport/RES in Portland next week with roof rails and mats/wheel locks on it. I just ordered the following:

Wood Wheel
Wood Shift Knob
Side Moldings
Bumper Moldings
Sport Running Boards
Front Garnish
Rear Garnish
Auto Day/Night Mirror
Cargo Net
Service Manual

... and a partridge in a pear tree!

I'll get to start installing these myself the last weekend of the month. Yay!

I was going to get the OEM hitch but the Valley Industries one is just as good at 1/9th the total cost with installation. And really, all I'll be using it for will be to haul bikes for the time being.

Don't you just love the anticipation?
Enjoy your new X and all the fun that goes along with personalizing it.

Just curious. IMO the hardest one is the wood wheel. I was a little hesitate messing with the airbag, so it was done by the dealer. Are you installing the wheel yourself?
lentiman
Yes, I'm doing it myself. It's really as simple as follow the directions. The only tool I need is the wheel puller and that will only be around $10. Air bags don't go off by magic, they need an ignition signal.

Just got home last night from picking up the MDX in Portland. Everything is good. I installed the autodimming mirror/compass at about 11pm last night w/o any problems. Works like a charm. Almost everything else arrives on Monday. I think I'll start with the running boards and body side moldings and work from there.

Did you get your MDX at Dick Hannahs or Tonkin? I just bought mine last week at Dicks.
lentiman
I got mine at Dicks. Good experience, but the one I got has a born on date of either 3/07 or 4/07 and it had 200 miles. I'm pretty annoyed about that. I did everything by phone from Seattle until I picked up the vehicle. I got a great price, but I suppose I should have been more specific. Ugh.
