I'm just curious to hear what everyone's top 5 wish list for the MDX is. It's a great vehicle, but possibly not as superior to the competition as the 1st gen IMHO. I hope Acura adds feature content over time to keep it fresh, instead of letting it wither on the vine like the RL.
Anyway, mine would probably be the following:
-6 speed auto w/ paddle shifters
-Power folding sideview mirrors
-Keyless access/start
-Upgraded NAV (higher screen resolution/better graphics)
-Optional 2nd row captains chairs
Since I'm not in a huge hurry, hopefully we'll see at least a couple of these for 2009 when I plan to buy. :) |

I concur... Not sure I need the turbocharger or more horsepower, but I certainly wouldn't turn it down |

I would like the following on the next MDX:
1. The old rain sensing windshield wipers(like my 04 MDX).
2. The immediate working back up camera(like my 04 MDX) + the ability to switch it on when driving.
3. Keyless entry and push button start.
4. Navi connected to real time weather radar.
5. A bluetooth phone system that would let you load addresses from more types of phones or from a notebook comuter.
6. A special discount from Acura depending on how may MDX cars you had bought in the past including a no hassle and no local dealer mark up on th eprice.
:2: |

3. A LCD option hook up for my mac mini.
4. Auto windows roll up (not not roll down)
5. Keyless engine start. |

You DO have auto roll up on the front windows.
Agree with most of the posts. Not sure about the turbocharging.
Hybrid option would be nice, and fuel cell or electric version in the near future would be welcome. HUD like on the Buick Enclave would be nice for a geek like me.
Remember sgtglok's wish for front-loaded machine gun before? Or was it flamethrowers? Pretty handy for obnoxious drivers. |

1) Rain-sensitive wipers
2) Hybrid Option
3) Non-high compression engine with less horsepower so Premium Octane fuel isn't required. (Again I understand why they did so -- to be able to sell 300hp for marketing reasons, but personally I'd rather have a few less horsies and be able to use regular fuel.)
4) Cooled seats (for those hot summer days with a black interior)
5) Power liftgate and heated rear seats as separate stand-alone options apart from rear DVD pkg.
6) More efficient/less clunky/more easily manageable Driver Info system (just isn't exactly the most user-friendly even after getting accustomed to it).
7) Dimming side mirrors |

...a V6 Diesel engine would be an even better choice (Honda supposedly has a state-of-the-art ultra efficient and ultra clean Diesel in Europe right now). They are bringing it here to the U.S. in a couple years. Hopefully they have the good sense to offer it in the MDX as well  .....they sometimes do really IDIOTIC stuff (like the decision to go with a WORTHLESS POS gas-guzzling turbocharged 4 cylinder in the RDX, instead of a nice, smooth, refined V6)
Agree with most other stuff other posters have mentioned, except for: What's wrong with the sound system?? .....I think the ELS surround sound system is simply awesome in its current form!!!.....light years ahead of the mediocre Bose in the 2001-2006 MDX
....the "slow backup camera issue" is most likely a "bug" that will be fixed for the '08 models
....and we probably won't see things like "cooled seats". These things will drive the price up too much. However, a "smart key system" would be nice.....and "dynamic laser guided cruise control with Collision Mitigating Braking System" as is available on the RL, would also be a "nice to have" option. |

1. Make my MDX a V8, 380 horse, 8 speed AUTO transmision (like the 2009 RX460).
2. An extra digit in my regular pay check.
3. A mistress .. heck make that two mistresses that can give a good HAND ... wash (it's a car wash you dirty mind people).
4. Make my MDX doors open like butterfly wings (like the Delorean. I don't really care for bikers, infact they have to duck when I open my doors. LOL).
5. An "ice maker" for my margarita inside the glove box.

Why do we wish for nice things in the 08??? It isn't like any of us are getting rid of our 07s...
My 2012 wish list is -
Hybrid Engine with 60 MPG and 400 HP
Cooled seats with massage feature
I'll take #3 from above, screw the wash...
Those cooled drink holders in the Dodge (Cobalt I think) would be pretty nice here in AZ.
Smart Cruise Control

Yes, yes you've just made my day. It would very very nice if they can put the mini in the dash. I've opened up the center DVD/CD center console, & believe me you, there's room to play... I've got a hold of an iphone & oh boy it is sweet. They should try the fingers touch screen on all NAV sys & run OS 10 for multimedia & internet like the iphone does. By the way, looks like microsoft surface has come in play as well. |

I am not a big iPhone fan, I like buttons rather than touchscreen, plus the lack of 3g support turns me off. I use my Blackjack as a bluetooth modem for my laptop, and it works like a champ (not sure if iPhone supports this).
If you mount a mac mini in there, and figure out a way to toggle the screen for it, you can use the blackjack as a modem... not the safest thing for driving, but it is fun! |

I drink a cup or two of coffee a day, and mostly water after that. I have been known to mix in suger free flavored sparkling water as well, which I am sure causes the same issues as regular diet soda.

It does show the name of the street. To uncal's point, it would be nice to see the city/state in addition to the street especially for roads like I-95 which stretches from Maine to Florida. |

I suggest that most of the above is reasonable, however that said, after the 5 speed transmission fiasco with most V6 Honda vehicles, keep the 5 speed, as they only really figured out the problem from 03 foreward. Probably one of Honda's worst problems, and must have cost them a bundle, and likely still is. |
