I spent one hour yesterday afternoon to make absoluately sure that I have installed the car seat correctly. However, this is still one thing left. It is about the Versa Tether. I have no idea what is the meaning of these words, but according to the picture in the manual, I need to find an anchor point in the first row and secure the car seat's top end with that. I am really confused about where to find such an anchor point in MDX and how to securely attach the harness.
If anybody could show me a picture of yours, it would be truely great.
If anybody has installed a Britax Regent, please let me know if there is anything tricky. I need to install one on another car next weekend.
Thanks a bunch! |

I have to double check the instructions on my Britax Roubdabout, but if I understand correctly, you're trying to find an anchor point for the top tether with the carseat facing forward?
What I did with a front-facing Roundabout was anchor the tether to the one on the rear center by passing it between the headrest posts. With the combination of LATCH and rear tether, the carseat does NOT move at all. |

Yes. You are absoluately right. The Marathon is now installed rear-facing, so I need to find an anchoring place in the first row.
But later, I need to reverse the car seat forward-facing when the baby is about 33 pounds. I read your post several times, but I still cannot understand 100%. Do you have a picture for that?
Cheers.

| If we're talking about similar instructions, I never did understand how to anchor when the seat is rear-facing so I never did it. Thankfully, that was just a short time. The crude illustrations, as I recall, show a rear-facing seat with the tether either going vertically down from the top of the carseat or horizontally across where the baby should be. The MDX does not have an anchor point in the floor of the second row, unlike some European cars and carseats, which have a "toe" that drops vertically down to the floor. I wasn't comfortable with the suggested (Canadian or Australian?) way of anchoring across to the rear so I didn't do it. I'll try to take pics of my install later. |

| This is great info - thanks, jeno. I wonder if the tether anchor points really are manufacturer recommended, as implied by the first link you cited. Again, very useful info. |

Nuts, you should take out the carpeted mats before putting in the all weather mats! =P

I have been using the right leg of the front driver seat. This spot works will with either a middle or driver side outboard install. Here's a picture where I have removed the cap so you can see, but I actually now have it installed with the cap in tact.

Here's some general info on versa tether in case you still have questions:

I don't have any tips on the Regent as my son is still young, but check out this site for help.

Thanks. Great info. Two questions though:
1. Is it going to interfere with the movement of the seat when the leg of the seat is chosen as the anchor?
2. Is there any benefit to install the car seat in the mid-seat, instead of behind the driver? I installed it in the middle now, but I plan to install it in the passager side later when the seat is forward facing, b/c I am afraid that my baby will kick the back of the center console.
Many thanks.

| I don't think my 21-month old can really kick the center console, but I know her sister keeps putting her feet on the back of the front passenger and has been scolded several times for getting it dirty! |

I have seen Baby's R Us selling a back seat protector. That is why I want to put it behind a regular seat. There is nothing out there to protect the center console.

I eventually got a back seat protector. It doesn't really match the bordeaux interior but nothing I've seen really does. |
