I'm at my dealer (Mac Churchill Acura in Ft. Worth, TX) right now and there is a silver '07 MDX Sport on the floor with a Certified Pre-owned banner on it. So I look at the sticker and it has 38 miles on it.
Geez. Did someone figure out after only 38 miles that they didn't like it?
All the salesguys are in a meeting, so I can't ask what the story is, but I'll bet it's a doozey. :D

Or they signed all the paper work and the financing fell through, but didn't know it until the next day.
That seems like a bargain, what did they want for it? |

| A friend of mine came across this same thing a few months ago, but the dealer decided to use it as a loaner. |

Don't know about price - the window sticker they use doesn't give you that little tidbit. |

I had found one a month or so before I bought mine, and the story I got was that many times an Acura Dealer will take one (a loaner or similar) to an Acura Only dealer auction where Acura Dealers from their region will trade cars with each other.
Not sure how true it is, but who knows.... |

| I was told that Acura Loaners are specifically "loaners from the factory" and are allocated to those dealerships that exceed goals, so I think that story is a sack of crapo ! Probably a deal that was not approved by one of the many banks they do business with..... |

| Also if you look in the glove box of loaners, it says on the sticker: LOANER VEHICLE from the factory...... |

Yeah, my guess on this one is that credit fell through, but it would have to be AFTER the car was titled. Otherwise, with only 38 miles, it would have just gone back to the lot as new.

Plus, with only 38 miles, that's not long enough about someone to hate it that bad to trade it in!!!
When I was considering purchasing the X I looked at a number of Audi Q7's that were one owner vehicles with 3-5K miles......that made me very concerned....just enough time to deplore the car so much to trade it in.....not with 38 miles..... |

Yeah, this only counts as used because legally it has to.
Buying a used car is the best thing (financially) that you can do, but I don't like to take over someone else's problems. I know that I get rid of cars as they become a pain in my ass mechanically, or I get bored of them. |

Or, it may have been returned as a Lemon. 38 miles would be enough to find out it had a hole inside the engine block. In my state, the title is then marked to show it was a "Lemon". how about yours?
It could also have suffered damage during transit. In some states, significant transit damage has to be declared, or the car is called used. |

I kind of doubt lemon. For a car to be declared a lemon, it has to have a problem that the dealer has tried 3 times or more without success to fix (or something like that). I don't see how it could have even been driven to the dealer enough times in 38 miles to be declared a lemon!
I could call the salesman and ask, but it's more fun to speculate. :2:
