| 2003 MDX about 2 months out of warranty developed a whining sound about a month ago. Seems to be coming from the engine compartment. Sound becomes louder and more high pitched with acceleration and lessens at cruising speed. Turned off AC and radio and no change. Any thoughts about what this could be? |

| I would be worried about transmission issues. a consistent whine sounds very familiar. If the whine increses and decreases with the speed of the vehicle, I'd get it in for an check out |

| My 02 started whining several months ago. I brought it in for service and was told that it was nothing that they could find. Lately, the tranny seems to be going as it slips constantly when shifting up in low gears. I have an appointment for Wednesday for the dealer to "diagnose" the problem. I assume that the tranny will need to be replaced. At least I hope so as my milage is at 83,000 and I bought a warranty to 100,000. I was hoping the problem would show up before the 100,000 mile mark. |
