This is only meant for my personal entertainment, not trying to start a war.
I call mine an SUV. I see alot of posts on here where people refer to their X as a Truck. I am just curious if it is a regional thing. When I think of a truck I think of the classic definition..a vehicle with an exposed bed of some sort or a pick up truck. I wouldnt even call something like a Tahoe or Yukon a truck.
So...what say you? Is your MDX a truck or an SUV? |

I've been using my MDX for:
1. For home improvement, tons of load (on roof rack) 2X4's, drywall, mattress, etc. Inside: flat screen TVs (50"), computer desk, shelves (fr IKEA), washer/dryer, etc. So it's a TRUCK.
2. For family, taking 7 passengers to Vegas, San Diego, amusement parks, etc. So it's a VAN?
3. For more private, taking my wife to Saddle Peak for a formal dinner, to friend's wedding, etc. So it's a LUXURY CAR.
4. For personal, loading my photography equipment for a shoot on the beach, some off road, cruising the canyon, running errand, etc. So it's a UTILITY?
... So I guess it is more than just a TRUCK or SUV, it's like a car within a suv. |

I believe the term truck is use due to older SUV are all base on TRUCK Platform. Even some of the older Vans.
Nowadays however, new SUV and Van are now base on Cars with Beef up frame.
I call my ML500 a truck that is because its a truck in Mercedes term. But My MDX is a SUV that emphasis on Sport just like X5. |

I laugh when I see truck... I'm sorry but trucks have an open bed and a separate frame and body. Yes, that means the Ridgeline is most definitely NOT a truck.

I agree that this is a car, at best an SUV, but some SUVs are trucks. My Excursion was definitely a truck, and it didn't have an open bed. Same frame as an F250, and a V10 motor that could pull a house... I think that is a truck |

Officially in most states it is registered as a truck. Call it what you want as it does not matter. I bought a truck and use it as a truck as best as I can with its limitations.
