The Ft. Wayne IN Bob Rorhman dealer is adding about $3000 in dealer options to all MDX's. they refuse to sell without them. Is this typical or not. Other Indiana dealers are not doing this to customers.

The heck with them. I think you should mention that outrageous behavior in the dealer ratings here!

Absolutely! List that weasel in the dealer ratings section. And buy your MDX somewhere else. Vote with your dollars. Choice is power!

... then go elsewhere. I would let them know that you are rating/slamming them on the site.

Same here in Northern CA. But the added option added up to $4.5K. When asked if they could sell without the option, the salesperson simply said that all of THEIR customer gets the package and if I did not want them, I should look elsewhere and showed out the door. This dealer acted as if they were the only Acura dealer in No. CA.

So I came to this website, searched dealer rating and just ordered a Silver +NAV+Tour from Hopkins Acura in Redwood City, CA @ MSRP, no unwanted options. Very professional and courteous.

My dealer in Long Island had a 3-4 month waiting list in Jan and they were adding $1000 over list price. Since I traded in my Durango to them I didnt pay the 'surcharge'. No options were forced on us.

You say that becasue you traded in your Durango they dropped the "typical" surcharge? No doubt they would make up the difference on your trade. Out of curiosity did you get a good/fair offer on the Durango?
