| Hi everyone I've searched numerous threads to try and find out an answer to this question with no luck. I'm looking at installing an overhead dvd player and some installers say it cant be done because of the sunroof, I know thats not true because that year (2005) had factory dvd player. When I look between the headliner and sunroof cover there is only about a 1/4" to 1/2" play. Whats the best way to support this overhead dvd (9.5") to the headliner? Im wondering how the factory one is mounted since the sunroof cover slides back into the headliner. I cant go directly into the roof supports since it will interfer with the cover. Please help. Thanks, Chuck |

I had an overhead DVD installed in mine. I didn't do the work but the installer had the same concerns. He simply used a very thin piece of plywood installed between the headliner and the roof. The DVD is screwed into that. It does vibrate a little, but not once have the kids complained about it.
I don't think this is the proper way to do this though. If you search (and it might take a while) there is an old thread where someone details how to attach a piece of metal strapping to the rails of the sunroof. Here is that post: http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...ghlight=bracket
Good luck. |
