| Does the name MDX have an actual meaning or is it just a bunch of letters? |

| I believe it's "Multi-dimensional cross trainer" but do a search - I know it has been discussed previously. |

Multi-Dimensional Luxury.
The "X" is a stretch, but automakers like "X" in their vehicle names. Has a good buzz to it. Can't believe they pay marketing folks to do this. |

| As I am one of those 'Marketing Folks" I am glad that they do pay me :D . |

Ha ... present company excluded of course.
I'm sure marketing folks do more important things than putting the "X" in the name. :D |

| I wonder if the "X" is getting attention due to XXX?? |

Hope this isn't belaboring it too much (well, probably too late for that), but "X" just works for most things. It's an unusual letter, not used much, gets a lot of attention.
Yes, it's racy as in X-rated. Remember all the "X" caps around the time the Malcolm X movie came out?
There's the X-Men. Experimental plans are like X-15's. X is cool. Mazda knew this years ago when they made their rotary-7 vehicle the RX7. There's generation X, and now there are the X-games with X-treme sports.
I think maybe Acura needs to change its name to Xacura (pronounced X-acura). If they do, I expect a major royalty, and MarkC's lawyers can probably help me get it. |

Its so obvious, MDX is the number 1510 using roman numerals.
Now for the real question. Why did Acura choose to call it the 1510? |

Well, it really is obvious. 1+5+1+0=7! The number of people that MDX seats..... or 15+10 = 25, the number of cup holders :) |
