After one aborted attempt to pick up my wife's 07 X Sport, we finally took it home last night but the vehicle will be going back to the dealer shortly. My sad tale begins last Sunday at Palm Beach Acura. After 3 test drives we negotiated the price of the X and our trade in an 05 Cayenne S.
The vehicle would not be ready for a few days due to the accessories we were adding on plus normal dealer prep. I figured we would leave a deposit and sign a purchase order and complete the paperwork at delivery. They insisted we wait for the finance guy to sign all the papers even though we werent taking delivery. I thought this was odd but harmless. After signing all the paperwork the salesman told us they wanted us to leave the Porsche and take a loaner home until the X was ready. I thought this was ridiculous and refused. When we tried to leave the salesman was waiting by the Porsche and says if we didnt leave the Porsche we at least had to drive the X off the lot and around the block to "complete the transaction". I politely refused, told the sales manager we looked forward to seeing him in a few days at delivery and got in the Cayenne.
5 minutes later the same sales manager called me and in a panic said "you left us with nothing!" Confused I said we just signed all the papers for the X and the Cayenne. He said we had to come back and leave a deposit. I refused and told him we are offered a deposit to no avail. He said he would take a 1k deposit on the phone and refund it at delivery. I relented.
We got the call on Wed that the vehicle would be ready for delivery so we went Wed evening. When we got there the vehicle was filthy and not remotely close to showroom clean. There were 2 scratches on the rear hatch and the roof rack wasnt properly installed and there was a visible gap in the weather stripping. Once again they told us to leave the Porsche and take a loaner and come back for the X. I refused, made them put the plates back on the Porsche and we left. No one cared to apologize.
The next day the salesperson called and said the vehicle was ready, the scratches buffed out and the roof rack replaced. I advised we werent available that day but would come in the next. A few hours later the General Manager called and essentially threatened me. He said "each time you leave with the Cayenne we run the risk of losing our buyer, if we lose you lose". I am still not sure what that means but it was a threat. He also said we were being unreasonable and "most people just take the loaner". I told him we would be in the next day.
So we go to get the vehicle expecting it to be immaculate only to find it still filthy. There were drippings on the side were the mirrors leaked water, the car was dusty again. I had to drive the X to the clean up area for the detailer to clean it up. While back there, I found a paint bubble on the gas gap and the driver's threshold plastic trim was scratched up beyond repair. They gave me an IOU for both parts. Exasperated, we took the X home where I inspected the car more closely and found another scratch and a ding in the bodyside molding. I immediately called the Sales Manager who insinuated it was our fault. Mind you, this is 10 minutes after leaving the dealership. Again unapologetic he said he would note it and take care of it when we went back for the IOUs.
This was by far the WORST dealership experience I have ever had. The excitement of buying this car destroyed not to mention all the hassle we are going thru. Word of caution AVOID PALM BEACH ACURA AT ALL COSTS. |

| Sorry to hear that! Most dealerships in the Florida area always seem to have somthing up their sleaves. These are the same guys that told you that you would be sorry if you don't stick with the acura wheels? They are so stupid; obviously they lost all the money for future servicing from you! I would report this to Acura head office! Does the Sentinal or one of the news channels do a trouble shooter segemnt down there? If so I would report it to them also! |

Same dealer that told me NOT to get non-dealer wheels. Unfortunately we bought a 3 year servicing program with them. I hope the servicing dept isnt as poorly run. I already called Acura customer service and filed a report, we'll see if anything comes of it. |

| What good is it filing a report with Acura. The dealers are independent. So Acura gets a complaint. They tell the dealer they got a complaint. Then what?? They don't get to display the Acura Service Award???? Whooptido. I have found Acura service to be abyssmal. Every time I brought my MDX in they broke somethng else, one time destroying the engine (it had 33K on it). I will be seriously thinking of another brand when my MDX leaves. Not because I don't like the vehicle but because of my service experiences! |

It felt good to vent if nothing else and the rep that took my complaint was sincerely mortified and very apologetic. More than I got from the dealer. I had problems with service on my 04 TL with another dealer and vowed not to go back. Guess I'm paying the price for liking Acuras. |

| I use Acura of South Florida. Owned by the same dealer, Craig Zinn Automotive. www.czgroup.com I would contact them directly and let them know what was going on. I have had no problems with Acura of South Florida. They gave me a good price over the phone. I however made a separate appt. and paid cash for the accessories rather than work them into the car price. |

What point would there be to contact them since I already bought at Palm Beach Acura? |

I think what he was saying is that the same company, Craig Zinn Automotive, owns Palm Beach Acura as well, and that you should let them know that their sales people suck.
I am shocked that you bought it, I would have told them to go screw... |

Well, I was inclined to but we really wanted the MDX and had to do something with Cayenne for tax reasons and I already had issues with the next closest dealer. I got a fair price so I swallowed my pride. Cant go wrong with 2.9%. |

| If they cared about that they wouldnt have treated us the way they did. |

| The new owners survey actually influences how many Acuras they get. It does make a difference. If you're not going to have it serviced there, nuke 'em. |

UPDATE!!
Drove the X on the highway for the first time yesterday. Once highway speed is reached the steering wheel shimmies and shakes quite noticeably. Ride also seems very choppy around town.
Obviously, I was given a vehicle that wasnt road ready. |
