I didn't see a North Carolina area forum, but was wondering if anyone on the boards own either a black or a mahogany MDX in Hickory.
The Black I saw Friday morning around 6:45 am, the other around 6pm Thursday.

I'm in Asheville. My dad's been wanting an MDX for a couple weeks, and we came across a GG touring/nav at Bradshaw in greenville sc. They got it saturday, prepped it, we came across it monday, he bought it. It's really nice so far. We just spent 3 hours installing fender flares ourselves, not a huge deal. I'm going to suggest he get lots of other cool stuff to put on it, too... hehehe.

I'm actually just visiting my parents who moved out here last fall, but I'm proud I know where Asheville is. :) Henrick owns Acura too? I've noticed that Henrick seems to own all the car dealerships in the area. My parents bought their new lexus from him. Must me one wealthy guy. Hope he's a good guy and good to customers like Acura dealers should be.

Great car, you guys will love it.
I saw a silver one today on the 321.
BTW, welcome to the board to both of you!

Yes Hendrick is very wealthy, aside from having purchased most of the Honda dealerships in the area, he is the owner of Jeff Gordon's race team. Despite this, his access to Acuras seems limited maybe due to this past troubles with Honda, and not very good customer service.

If you will check, you will find that Hendrick plea bargained an agreement with the Feds that involved giving kickbacks to Honda Corp. in returns for favorable treatment for vehicle allotment. This was initiated by other Hendrick Honda dealers. He was charged with a felony, but the plea bargan was a handslap in comparison. Apparently he came down with cancer during the trial which later disappeared once the plea bargan was accepted. He served 18 months house arrest, and received one of the "last minute" pardons from President Clinton. I don't know what his current relationship with Honda is, but he seems to have the smallest supply of Acura's available. When I was looking for a MDX in January, they put me down for Sept. Every other non-Hendrick dealer in the Carolinas could get an MDX in much less time. All quoted about 4-5 weeks. Bradshaw was one of these dealers as well as Leith in Raleigh and Fayetteville. There are also two dealers very close to each other in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. (Only about 60 miles away if you live around the lake.) If you are interested in getting the MDX sooner I suggest checking out the other dealers in the area.

A friend of mine is good family friends with the Hendricks. He's always been a little leery of the family. His main relationship is with one of his sons, who by now I'm guessing is a sophomore in college. Anyway, yes, there have been LOTS of problems with most/all of the family dealerships and their treatment of customers.
From personal experience, their BMW store in Charleston has treated me like crap every tine I come in. I'm 24, but I think I deserve the same respect that any other potential customer gets. That's one reason I drive an Audi and not a BMW or Benz. Anyway, my friend, same age, was trying to get Dinan upgrades on his e36 M3. We were in Myrtle Beach at the time, so it was a good little poke to get there. They said "oh yes, come on down, that'll take about 30 minutes" (for the software reprogramming). So we get down there for the 8am appointment, and no one had ever heard of Dinan, NOR were they an authorized Dinan dealer, NOR would they even so much as say "I'm sorry" for their stupid-ass mistake. After about a 30 minute reeming, my friend called BMW, Dinan, and the BBB to complain, then we left. At every chance I get I tell people to NEVER buy a car from Hendrick.
Sorry for the long post...
