| is it just me or is it had to guage how far i am from something using the backup camera... the camera seems to show things a lot further than what it really is... sucks that theres no way to add the color coded lines like in the lexus or bimmer to show a better gauge of distance... i know the easy answer is just to look behind while backing up but i'm just curious as i then have a option i really can't use |

objects in the backup camera are way closer than they appear... you will get used to it. If I can see it at the bottom of the screen, then it is inches from my bumper... it points pretty much straight down |

Even the Toyota mini van has nice overlay info, I was surprised the loaner 2007 TL still didn't have any graphics. |

| I just look at my bumper in the camera to gauge the distance. |

| I used to have an Auburn Tiger tail attached to the tow hitch for gauging distance but some crazy person stole it on my last trip to the happiest place on earth. |

I have to agree with the original poster on this. My previous car with a backup cam was an Infiniti M45, and you could see not only where you were going, but how far away you were and where you were headed as you turned the wheels. The yellow guidelines curved as you turned the steering wheel, showing exactly where you were going to go as you changed steering angles.
The X's cam is handy only for being sure there's not a kid or bicycle or garbage truck behind you. I haven't been able to gauge distance with it at all, and I wouldn't dare trust it for backing into parking spaces or garages. The lens is just too "fisheye' and it distorts the view.
I love my X, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the backup cam.

It's cool. I'm not a football fan anyway - my wife is doing an MBA at guess where else, so that's my token of support. :D In fact, we were just there this past weekend. People here are fanatics though, it's amazing the way Auburn and Alabama fans can get so worked up without actually killing each other.
OK, back to topic. I sure hope Acura adds a better camera system and a better rear sensor. |
