Just browsing through our senior members and our patriarch hasn't posted since:

12-20-2006 01:47 PM

I think we've got to form a search party for him. A 10 month hiatus is simply too long.

Maybe greatscott would have some insight?:8:

I fear for the worse and the hope for the best.

Happens on every board. DaleB, TheWorm, Roadrunner......seems that heavy hitters on any board tend to time out after a couple years.

In fact, I can only think of a couple people that still hang around here since I joined this place......almost 7 years ago

He's probably enjoying his new toy too much.
BaldEagle
I don't think Dale still owns an MDX. Seems I recall him buying Worm's G35 last year.

Wish he was still posting here. He is missed.

Even if I sold the X, I'd still be active here.

I noticed his absence and pm'd him a few months ago and got no response. His last posts here made no mention of taking a hiatus.

Which is exactly what I do. Very few car forums have posts as interesting and varied as the ones here.

Although, I have to hold the record for length of being a regular poster and post count from someone that isn't an MDX owner :o

Tim,

That's why we love you!
hammermdx
We all love Tim!!! Just weird that DaleB completely disappeared w/o a peep. If I sell my MDX, I'd still hang out here, and if I was going to drop out I'd at least say c ya :-)

Lets call a spade a spade...if you did not make part of your living by selling parts to members of this board, would you be posting here?
hondacuraworld
Think about it this way......

I come here to sell parts, sure, but I also like talking about Acuras. I've been in my job here for 13 years. It's what I know, and I enjoy helping out where I can when I can.

I've known a lot of you folks for a long time, and have developed relationships with many throughout the years, and it's those relationships, discussions, and occasional sharing of lives that turns software and webhosting into a community.

Would I keep coming back if, for example, I didn't work here? Yep. Absolutely.

Don't hold it against someone for feeding his family.

Tim's brought considerable contributions to this board. More than some members who only post to make complaints.

But we have many Oldtimers who are "more-or-less" gone; or at least go months w/o posting as DaleB has:

TheWorm (11/23/06), xcel (9/14/06), hockeyplayer (1/14/07), Fireblade6 (4/28/06), jswift2000 (1/1/07), A2MDXer (11/13/06), DMor (9/1/06), ... etc :(

Although I've never actually purchased anything from Tim, I have always enjoyed his posts and have found him to be an excellent contributor to this board.

Jeez, I feel like I'm writing another letter of recommendation. :-)

Hey Ol'Timers. I havnt posted in a while, but I have to admit that I do search from time to time. I spend my forum time over here: http://www.infinitiscene.com/ ,
where I'm a moderator. We still have our 2001, & it's been problem free, incl. the tranny. We only have 45k on it, so I'm thinking we'll keep it a while. The wifey drives it mostly. It has gotten a bit bland compared to my 35 where the mod bug has bit, but it still serves us nicely on family road trips. No real excuse for my absence, but I guess that's just board life.

excuse the watermark. I'm not tring to plug, I just had these images in my photobucket, as I was sharing pics of the MDX with that board.

Here are the rides today & a video clip:

Good to hear from you GTO Dave, your first post in a year!

Where was that picture taken of the MDX in the desert? Looks like my old stomping grounds, Barstow area?

Some of us just lurk.

I miss DaleB too...

As for Tim, I tried to stop by his shop last month on my 7,500 mile road trip around the country from L.A. but couldn't work it into my route (got as close as Niagara Falls but had problems explaining to my wife why we should take a side trip to Buffalo to visit a car dealership...).

The point is I do feel a connection with folks I only "know" from posts on this site. Silly? Perhaps. But I still miss hearing from DaleB...
hondacuraworld
The Falls isn't too far away, I'd have met up with you there if I knew you were going through :)

If you look hard enough you can see the front of this dealership through the trees on the 90 between both tolls around Buffalo.

Good to see you still lurk and still have an MDX! I don't post as much as I used to but I've been around here a long time too and I lurk almost everyday. My MD still going strong. Just drove to Florida and back in August for vacation.

I have 3 Acuras now but the next car may be a Honda. My daughter will be 16 in a couple of years and she said she wants a Civic. I think that is a good choice.

I guess lurking could be a crime.
But I would think that's the case if I had visited the site every day. Not quite the scenario, so go easy bro  I'm a site veteran just as you, & with your post count . . you're no one to talk.

Ms. Mdx
I joined in early 2002 and got my X in may 2002. I even spoke to Tim on the phone once :4: . I still check in once in a while. I just "sold" my 2002 to a family member ... was going to get a 2008 X this fall but my husband got a new job and we've moved to Asia. While here I am buying the new 2007 Mazda MPV/8. Always swore I would never drive a minivan, but it seemed like the right vehicle for this market. When we get back to the US I will be looking at the X again.
