Hello everyone,
Does any body have heating issues with the center arm rest on the passenger side.
I just bought a new 2007 MDX and I found that on the center arm rest beween the driver and the passenger heats up. The heat emanates from the arm rest from the pessenger side. It becomes quite warm. And the only place that emanates the heat is from the passenger side (the side of the arm rest from the passenger side).
The dealer said that there is some kind of air intake system located in the arm rest that operates constantly to cool off the heat of the car or something like that. They told me its normal. But I think not. Can any one tell me if this is true, or should I be worrying about it and take it into the Acura dealer again.
thanks, |

I actually noticed the same thing last night. I would also like to know if anyone else has experienced the same thing and what the cause is.
I would not think it is normal. |

| We have not found extra heat from the center console. We even took a 400 mile trip and did not feel it. I would get it hot and have them look at it while it is hot. |

Finally somebody pointed out something I had mentioned a few times on this forum!
The heat problem has drived me up the wall for a long time, especially in this warm season. If I drive the car with the air conditioner turned off the issue comes even more noticable than ever.
Just check out the following plz.

Btw, I do not believe the issue is as small and easy as the tech has claimed. They said there would be no way to isolate or eliminate the heat from the cabin unless they took the whole heat unit out. What I dont understand is, if this is a design issue it is apparently a unique issue only attributed to the new MDX. Then Acura got to fix the issue if it wishes to stand up to its competitors. Unfortunately it has chosen to overlook it. |
