| I was just curious in knowing if anyone knew how the 2007 x's know when it is time to do a oil change? Is it just known by time/mileage, or is it a viscosity/temp thing? |

Interesting blog on the subject:
OIL LIFE DISCUSSION
One of the comments is"
""The oil-life monitoring technology involves computerized monitoring of engine revolutions, operating temperature and other factors to determine when a vehicle's oil should be changed. Rather than depending on fixed oil change schedules that may not be suitable for all situations, the monitoring system customizes oil change schedules based on a vehicle's engine and transmission type and an individual's driving habits.""
This referred to the GM system. I do know from personal experience with the GM system that it is not a straight time/mileage calculation. The percentage of life remaining varies with the type of current use of the vehicle.
I will be interested to see if anyone knows the exact implementation of the Acura system.
