After you have successfully paired your phone and have used it, do you have to do something everytime you re-enter the MDX or will automatically locate your phone? My wife's Blackberry is paired with her car and with the MDX and it seems like everytime we get out of our MDX and then re-enter it, it will not automatically find her phone. Is there something in the setup menu to fix this? Also when she goes back to her car it finds it just fine without doing anything.
Thanks in advance for any help provided. |

| It depends on the type of the phone. my phone pairs automatically, i tried out my friend's LG phone to see if it'll import the phone book and his phone had to be paired everytime. |

Welcome to the wonderful world of Bluetooth. My Blackberry pairs around 75% of the time, still can't figure out why it doesn't sometimes. The only thing you can do is make sure your phone firmware is current. |

| that is a bummer. I have a Samsung Blackjack and it pairs automagically... still won't transfer the phone book though :( |

I have a BlackBerry 7100T. Under Bluetoth properties you need to set the HLF link as a "trusted" device. That seems to help having the phone always hook up with the HFL when you get in the car.
Still can't import the phonebook or even one contact.

My iPhone pairs automatically every time I get into the car. I was also able to download my entire phone book.
The same holds good for my wife's Nokia 6682.
Never had problems with HFL. |

That may be due to the priority set by the phone, not the MDX. SOme phones will only look for the last "headset" it connected to. It sounds like that's what's going on with your wife's phone. |
