I was driving this past weekend with my wife and we noticed that the passenger seat makes a creaking sound now and then. It was happening whenever we would stop and go after a stop sign or after braking. I never heard the noise on the highway, probably because we were going straight. I then would apply pressure on the seat and sure enough, I could hear a creak.
Sounds like some WD-40 might take that creak out, but I will not fool around with that. I think I may have to take it to the dealer to get their opinion.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Think this may be a quick dealer fix? |

| We had an issue with ours the day we brought it home. The next day i tried to troubleshoot the issue myself, and found it to be the seatbelt of all things. It was rubbing against the leather and making a squeak. I would have never guessed that, but just loosening it up with general use has made it go away. Ship shape. |

Interesting. I will double check, but it sounded like the noise was coming from other places, but I'd be happy if it is just the seatbelt!
Thanks! |

| After driving with my wife today, I can say that the noise is coming from the seatbelt. We've had the X for over a month now, I would think that the noise would be gone by now. Any suggestions? |

Ask the wife to ride in back seat:D :D
Actually, does it only happen with a passenger in the seat, or is the noise there when no passenger? If is not too bad, you might want to wait for first oil change and have dealer find problem. You might also try putting the seat in different positions to try and isolate the noise.
Good luck |

It only happens when someone sits in the passenger seat. We also adjusted the seat, but it didn't matter. The noise is definitely coming from the seat belt lock holder, where it is attached to the seat. |
