I have very few complaints about the X, but the mouse fur they used in the cargo area and on the back of the 3rd row seats is just plain sucko.
If you put anything in there that's a little dirty or has some grass on it (boots, camping equipment, etc.), it's a bear to get it out. Stuff like grass, pet hair, and other fibrous materials just weave their way into the fuzzy covering and you almost have to pick it out by hand. A whisk broom - or even a shop vac - just seems to pass right over it.
In addition, anything that has a sharp edge leaves an almost permanent crease in the mouse fur, making it look kinda beat up.
This is a near-lux SUV, and I'm a little disappointed with the cheap covering they used back there. And don't suggest a cargo mat or tray ... when you use the 3rd row seats, there's nowhere for it to go except doubled over. :(
I give the cargo area covering a "3".

No, I don't recall telling you that. We all have the right to complain, but sometimes people go a little far with it, and I might have said that.
As I said in the beginning of my post, I have very few complaints about the X. And this one is minor, but it's odd to me that they used that stuff, given that the cargo area will probably be used for cargo at some point and that's not a good material for it.

| I agree Mike, the material they used attracts everything! So I ordered the cargo tray and that should solve this issue.... |

The cargo tray is one of the few accessories I bought. I had one in my Jimmy and it was a life saver.
I travel a lot, so I am constantly rolling luggage in and out, and have dirty wheel marks all over it, but it is better than having dirty wheel marks on the carpet.
I live in the desert, we don't have this "grass" stuff that you speak of, so I am not sure what that would do... |

Tell me, does your cargo mat cover the whole area when the 3rd row seats are down? If so, what do you do with it when you raise the 3rd row seats?
I've seen several mats, but they all would be hard to deal with if you had to use the 3rd row.

It covers the entire area when the 3rd row is down (not the second), I haven't had the 3rd row up for more than a few minutes, checking them out, but when I did, I just folded the cargo mat back (not fold as in crease) and it was fine.
It also hides the little trunk space nicely, so if someone gets into your trunk they won't even know that door is down below the mat. When I access that, I do the same thing, fold the mat back. It works out well. |

Thanks for the info. I guess I should look into one of those.

| The cargo tray lays down perfectly in the back. It almost looks like it is built in. When you buy your MDX from a Northwest dealer, they give you the Northwest package (Cargo tray, all-season mats, and wheel locks). Sure, it's an added cost, but totally worth it. Here's mine in my X. |

| Perfect! Thanks (I seldom use those wimpy third row seats anyway..):1: |

Did it come with the pink leather interior? :21:
It is very pliable, so you can roll it up if you do use those wimpy 3rd row seats |

That's flash for you. Looks more chocolate than pink. |

Ah ... that's the answer I was looking for.
In terms of aftermarket v. Acura, which is the better buy? I'm thinking of vendors like WeatherTech specifically.

Well, I just checked WeatherTech and they don't have a cargo liner for the '07 X yet.

I wouldn't trade my bordeaux for any other - it's just unique and now that this flaming Alabama sun has darkened it a bit, it is a rich reddish brown - something you would find in a Porsche or upscale brand. |

| I love the cargo mat! It fits completely over everything and looks great. When I raise the third seat I roll it or leave it home, it always rolls back out just fine. Really keeps sand and stuff out of the car.:) |

Interesting....we bought an MDX last december in Seattle and received the rubber mats in front and rear but not the rear cargo tray. I was actually looking at buying one. I'll have to find our window sticker to see if it should have been included!

Pretty sure it's an optional item unless you got your dealer to include it or it was part of a "dealer package" you paid for, which as you stated it would be on your sticker. |

Yeah, check your sticker. I would be surprised if a northwest dealer gave you the mats and locks but not the tray. Pretty cheap if they didn't. |

Okay, now some of you are talking about the cargo MAT and some about the TRAY.
Isn't the MAT just made of carpet, and the TRAY of some kind of rubbery stuff?
I see there's about a $20 difference in price between the two, and I've wondered if the TRAY (with the lips all around) rolls up well when the 3rd row seat is used (?)

The tray will fold up when you use the third row, but don't expect to put anything else behind the third row if you do that.
The mats that are being talked about are the all-season floor mats for each seating area. They too are made from rubber. |

There is a cargo mat that is made from the same rug-like material as the usual mats, different from the tray which is rubbery plastic, and also different from a PVC-like cargo liner that covers more area as well as the rear sill. |

I know about the cargo liner, but I never knew Acura made a cargo mat. I see it now on their site. Anyone have one? |

Thanks, burnside, but there is also a CARGO MAT (specifically for the cargo area) that appears to be made of carpet. Hondacuraworld has it listed for something like $81 and the cargo TRAY for something like $106.
