I just picked up my 07 MDX with tech/ent package. I have a Motorola V3M Razor cellphone and since it's paired via bluetooth I don't really need to have it in sight. However bluetooth is a battery hog and I would like to be able to keep the phone plugged in to the vehicle to keep the battery charged.

I don't like cords hanging all over the place and I noticed that the tech/ent package doesn't have a standard 12vdc power outlet in the center console. Just a 115v converter type outlet.

Anyone else come up with a solution for keeping a cell plugged in and charged in this vehicle without cords hanging all over? Thanks.

Could you use the standard house charger and just leave that plugged into the outlet in the center console? Will that damage the car or phone battery?

I also just got my Tech/Ent MDX, but I have the KRZR and it will not let me download the phonebook. Were you able to do that with your RAZR? I wrote to handsfreelink.com, they wrote back that the KRZR does not support that feature and I must enter all my numbers manually!

I was going to try the 115v house charger in the center console and see how it works today.

I was unable to load the phonebook with my RAZR. On www.handsfreelink.com you can look up your phone but most Motorola phones won't load the phone book. As a matter of fact many phones will pair up with the MDX but won't load the phone book.

I wonder if there is a program out there that will run on a PC and let the PC act like a phone. If there is, we may be able to load from a laptop, since most of us don't have phones that are compatible.

I will search for it when I have time, i.e. when I am not on the road, maybe next week.

I discovered last weekend that there was only 1 12v socket available to people in the front. Is there another one I don't know about? I can't believe I only have one. Of course there is the 115 in the center console, but what the heck!

There is another 12vdc socket all the way in the back behind the third seat. There might be another one on the center console facing the center seat.

I found out that the 115vac socket in the center console compartment works great with a 115v home type charger for the cell phone. Picked up an extra Motorola one at a Einstein kiosk in the mall for $25. Sprint wanted $40 for one. Too much.

Also figured out how to send phone entries to the MDX from my RAZR. If you activate the blue tooth in your RAZR an option will appear in your phone book that allows you to send an entry in your phone book to your MDX. I basically went through my cell phone book and selected an entry. Then under options you select send and then send to a bluetooth device. Have the MDX ready to recieve and it will recieve all the numbers for that persons name in your phone book, i.e. work, home, cell, etc. that you have listed under that persons name. Then you have to add a name to each one as the HFL of the MDX prompts you. It's very easy. Not quite as efficient as importing the entire phone book but it will take all the phone numbers for one person and then you move onto the next person.
