Nope. These are not recalls - just recommended solutions to an existing problem. |

I have an '06 MDX.
Can you post the TSB for the '06?
Many thanks.

| 042 deals with the flapping hood at highway speeds. Several dealers realigned the hoods to fix this, which isn't the correct fix. |

Thanks for posting bulletins.
Bulletins #046 remote transmitter on the 2nd pg. item (6) says to reprogram the remote use the service manual. Is that the same manual listed in the back of the owners manual that can be purchased from Helm inc.? The reason I ask is that the dealer says its $99 for the remote and $150 to program it. If you buy the manual for $75 your still $75 ahead and have the service manual for future reference. |

Refering to the tech manual as it specifies in that bulletin, the tech manual says that you can add/delete a remote transmitter without the HDS (Honda Diag. Sys). The transmitter that opens the door locks is separate from the immobilizer transponder that prevents your car from starting without an authorized key.
So, if you buy a new key and get it cut etc, you will need Acura to program it. But if you are simply buying the lock/unlock transmitter part, then you don't need to.
Adding transmitters is easy, there's a short 3 sentance paragraph describing how to do it. Let me know if you need. |

| As for the "knock or clunk from rear suspension," will someone please explain a little more in detail the sound and when they hear it? When I come out of my slanted driveway in reverse, I feel like it has a pretty loud noise when making contact with the road (it is about a 140 degree angle where they meet). I do not hear it on my 01, so it makes me wonder. Just a little more description would be great. Thanks. |

| I missed six TSB's I've updated the list accordingly (the first six on the list are the latest ones added) |

| Thanks a bunch for this. Most dealers are aware of the problems, but it all depends on the dealership and their competence. |

I just came back from the dealer where this TSB was done. I had been attributing the "clank" to stiff suspension; it was like the shocks were worn out in rebound. I only heard it on some bad potholes, though. I shied away from Sport mode on really bad streets.
After having it fixed, the whole car is quieter! While I didn't notice all the clunking going on, when it stopped it was blissfully silent.
I even put it in Sport mode and rode around Manhattan streets! Potholes, bicyclists, and a few slow pedestrians, and nary a suspension clunk! |

I want one of those - you hit a pedestrian and there is nary a suspension clunk!
Good post and it should help others! |

Heat- The 033 may be what you're looking for. You complained about lots of clunks clanks and clicks- See my post above for the before and after.

I noticed at least one TSB missing
http://www.in.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/b07-044.PDF
This is the latest TQI for 2008 MDX. As you'll noticed, there are a number of new steps... what are the chances some dealer will miss some ;)
Anyway, thanks for the original post, this is great ! |

| Are there any new TBS issued for 2007/2008 MDX since last list? |

I test drove the MDX with a mechanic. I hear the whistle, he hears road noise.
I complained to Acura Client Service at 1-800-382-2238.
Please everybody who has whistle call them and complain! |

Cool, they added a fix for the amplifier "Pop". Always better to tell them the TSB number rather than just "fix it".
:D
My X goes in next Thursday for this. |

| Door latches and fuel doors that have to be replaced because they wont open in freezing weather? Isn't the MDX built and sold (and I would think tested) in Canada???? And they would not give us Americans the headlight washers???? |

I was reading the 2008 TQI procedure and noted the Idle Learn and CKP learn procedures....could these apply to 2007 models as well? It would describe two problems I am having (minor niggles to be sure).
1) Idle is kind of rough / fluky. Just a bit, mind you, but it's a tad worse than my 5-pot Volvo! I would expect it to be much smoother for a V6 Honda.
2) What is CKP learn? Sounds like something to do with downshifting maybe? I feel like the transmission has very notable downshifts when either coasting or braking. To the point where engine braking kicks in and I need to release a bit of brake in order to keep decelerating at the same rate. It's not a big thud, but again, very much more notable than I would have expected. I do not recall this behavior on any other 2007 demo that I have driven.
Thoughts....? |
