Have anyone thought of having a hitch step on the MDX? I just installed the valley hitch recently and thinking about it, but I am not sure how will it look.
I already haWill it be too much? ve chrone sidesteps. Will it be too much?
I tried to attach an image, but it didn't work. Here's a link to the item on Ebay.
Any opinion on this thought will be appreciated.

I don't know, the one in the middle doesn't look so bad. |

| It is definitely functional but not sure I would want it on the back all the time.....IMO |

Oh, you were referring to that ugly thing they are standing on... yeah, that looks like crap, IMHO...

| the middle looks too bony. The one on the RT has better fit. All natural design curves are in the right places. |

LOL...Thanks for the honesty...I have seen it on the Escalade and it looks very good, but not sure about the MDX...
After these opinions...I'll pass on it and need to get new idea for the hitch. |

That looks wimpy. I like the Rhino hitch step and will probably get one with either chrome or carbon black finish. Just some extra protection against rear bumper bashes. |

That was one of the reason why I want to get the hitchstep, for bumper protection. Reason #2 is for the look, but seem like everyone here against the idea. |

Don't let others's opinions sway you. It's your ride. Besides there are plenty of other members with older gen X's that have a Rhino hitch step installed, especially in the NY-NJ area. Hitch step - $50, Rear bumper replacement - $400, Peace of mind - priceless. :2: |

I agree, who cares what we think. Get what you like, if your main concern is protecting the bumper, than the one with the picture of the fat guy standing on it, is the way to go. |

Nah I take the middle one with the chick at that price.
Yup, I live in NY without a driveway/garage....you know how people park
Rhino Hitchstep for 50 bucks? Where do you find that? Is it chrone? don't want it in black |

I looked here. That particular one is not as fancy as the ones you cited, and no surfer chick either, but you get the picture. |

Thanks DJ...I have seen this before. This is the shorter version. The cheapest I am more interested in 36" chrone |

I know. I'm probably gonna get something like this too. I've seen a hitch step with a brake light but it looks a little kooky and defeats the purpose of damage control if the light gets broken. Autoanything has free shipping right now, with $20 off. |

Yeah, you may want to get two or three, since the first few will be dented or stolen in no time :)
NYC is a fun place to visit, but I wouldn't want to own a car there. |

I have a black Rhino hitch step/bumper on my black MDX, and I had one on my other two MDX's as well. They are great protection from parking attacks.
I've reduced my purchases of new rear bumper covers significantly.
I park my car in a big city, and plastic bumpers are not adequate.
The hitch step also saved me when a Jeep Cherokee rear ended me. He tore up the front of his vehicle, and I got away with $600 (paid by him, of course).
In my biased opinion, once you put a hitch on the MDX, you've already identified it as a truck, and interrupted the smooth rear end. Putting the Rhino hitch step after a hitch is not any more objecitonable than the hitch, and is very functional.
And if the guy behind you pisses you off, you can back up relatively inexpensively. |
