| When you get past the dealer stage, there's a great shop in San Mateo called Honda Hospital. Honest guys, reasonable (not cheap) prices and great service. |

| I think Fabvsix goes to Pleasonton, he has a handful of Acuras and lives up north. |

In my past experience, I would not recommend Pleasanton Acura for any service related matters. They are my local dealer and provide horrible service!! They pass the buck, treat their customers like they are morons, talk crap about other dealers, are NOT customer focused at all!
I drive the extra distance to Oakland Acura. This dealership takes care of everything! Above and beyond everytime!
Without going into detail, if Pleasanton was the only dealership in California, I would drive out of state. |

| Anyone knows if Acura of Serramonte's service department is good/competent? |

Competent, yes. Sort of. When I switched to Honda Hospital after having all my previous work done at Serramonte, I discovered they had NEVER replaced the cabin air filter. Its easy to tell since you have to cut off a piece of plastic to change the filter. I never did get around to reviewing old records to see if they'd charged me for that service. I probably should have. Either way it should have been done at least a couple times before 80K (around when I switched). If I have to go to a dealer on the Peninsula, that's probably my pick (over Hopkins in RWC and Harvey in Burlingame), but I'd take Honda Hospital over any of them if its anything but warrantee work.
Talk to Dave or Robert and tell them Randy sent you. |

I have been very happy with service at Stevens Creek Acura, in San Jose. No complaints whatsoever. I used to take my 04 TL there, and was happy enough with service that they were my first stop when buying my 07 MDX. |

Good, I am comparing the Autowest Acura at Stevens Creeks against Sunnyvale Acura. I have a coupon from Sunnyvale, 40 $ for oil change. I am wondering whether Autowest will honor Sunnyvale's coupon?
But first, which one is better? I tend to think Autowest is, b/c they are much more spacious :)

| Has anyone used a Honda dealer for regular maintenance? There's a Honda dealer REALLY close to my house, but the Acura dealer takes a little more planning to get to. I'm ready for my 1st oil change / tire rotation - so nothing major. |

Why would you go to a dealer other than for warranty service??
Let me give you an example, My Toyota dealer quoted me $650 to replace the starter (remanufactured) for my Lexus LX450. I refused the service, but bought the starter from the same dealer for $275 + taxes, took it to my trusted mechanic shop which charged me $40 to install it. By the end, I save $300 for the same part for 1/2 hour job. |

In New York I have used Paragon Acura to get emissions warranty work done on a 1996 tl 2.5. The service adviser was courteous and did exactly what I asked. He mentioned some other services that I might want, but was very courteous when I declined. The car was ready when promised. One of the most pleasant dealer experiences I have had. I wish I could say the same for the salesman on the showroom.
I also used Curry in Scarsdale for service on this same car. I had the car towed in on a Saturday and they took the car in and they fixed it the same day. They were expensive, but we were happy with their serice. They salespersons are also very nice. So nice we ended up buying our MDX there. |
