We had stopped turned the engine off went into a store came out and started the MDX up and it was black. Repeated the stop and start the ignition still nothing. While driving we tried pushing canel, menu etc. Finally when we go home a few minutes later and I pulled in the garage I tried again to turn on and off the ignition and it finally came on. Any similar experiences?

You might try (if it happens again) ejecting the DVD and re-inserting...

I have a 99 TL with navigation and that happened to me may be 2 or 3 times in the past 3 years. Its the computer not booting properly. Shuting the car off for a few minutes will reset the navi computer and it will start up just fine. If the problem is persistent (like a few times a week or month) I would take it in because the comp may be damaged.

That happened to me a few weeks ago. Took it into the dealer and he was going to replace the display (altho I doubt that was the problem). He had to order the part, but I haven't heard from him since. The nav has been fine since then, though.

I had it happen to me once but I believe I may have mistakenly hit the "shut down" button rather than "ok" so even the trip computer didn't work. Never happened again.
