Hope everyone had a good long weekend.
We are having a problem with the CD changer. Can't play or eject any of the CD's (Error E1). According to the manual, this will require a service call to the dealer. Has anyone else had this?
This is our first problem with the car. On the bright side, we averaged just over 10 L/100 kms (around 23 - 25 MPG's) on the round trip to the cottage! |

| When my MDX was delivered, it would not play any CDs. It would load them, and eject them fine, but would not play them. The dealer swapped the whole unit out and it has been fine. Be careful that your dealer knows how the pull the unit out without damaging the surrounding dash material. This used to be a real problem, but I understand that Acura has supplied a tool now, hopefully preventing the service dept from prying the unit out with a screwdriver! |

Well, I took my wife's MDX to the dealer for a quick check, and it looks like the CD player has to be replaced. According to the tech, the CD's are jammed, and they are not supposed to even try to un-jam it. Strange because it jammed right in the middle of a disk, while playing - we were on the highway - no major bumps or anything.
Since we had 5 CD's in the deck, we will have to wait a couple of week's after installation of the new deck to get our disks returned. The new deck's on order - should be here in 1-2 weeks. I'll make sure to ask about the dash material BEFORE they start the repair - Thanks for the tip! |
