I know...everyone posting that their cars arrives...big deal. Still, I am excited! I got the call late Saturday that my 01 GG MDX will be ready late Tuesday!:D :D Almost 4 months to the day. Anyway, my build date was 8/22 and it arrived on 9/1 so only 9 days for shipping to Michigan - pretty fast. I plan to pick it up late in the week because of a few scheduled appointments. Thanks to all for the helpful info. When I get it home I will post pics and impressions. :)

The arrival of a new vehicle is always an exciting time, so by all means post! Congratulations on the pending delivery, glad the wait is just about over.

Hey A2 - Congratulations -- good to see that they were right on the money for the date. Make sure to post a picture once you pick it up. Can't you reschedule some appts to pick it up earlier in the week?

On a side -- off topic note -- I was going to bet you a acuramdx.org sticker on the PSU / Mich game, but after witnessing the Miami game this past weekend, I'm having second thoughts.
A2MDXer
One of the appointments is for my Civic trade-in so I really have to wait. Just got a digital camera yesterday so I need a few days to figure that out anyway!

I would be willing to wager a sticker - you still might want to do that as Michigan stuggled quite a bit but they picked an easier foe than did PSU.

Let's wait until we see how each of our respective teams does this week. Miami is one FAST team, that's all I can say.

Please let me know how you do on your civic trade (not actual $$, just who you sold it to - dealer/carmax/etc), and whether you feel you got a good deal.

Hey A2M
Congrats....I also picked up our Dark Green Pearl this past Saturday...now have the car for 3 whole days and love it! We ordered it in Feb and got it Sept 1st. Nice fall present to us! BTW I like the GG too, but opted for the darker green! You will absolutely love it when you finally drive it off the lot.....geeeze I don't know if I could wait several more days if I were in your position knowing it is ready and available....cheers Michael

Congrats to A2M and Michael. These posts always makes us wannabes (with orders in) jealous. But we all want to wish you the best.
Michael
saloveku,

Latest update: we are going to sell the Civic on our own as the trade-in quote was a joke. It should be gone quickly. I am picking up the MDX on Monday :) and going tonight to do a test drive and check for any defects. Thanks to all for the delivery checklist - it's in hand. By the way, we ended up getting 6.5% financing so it was worth an extra day or two.

Thanks for the civic trade update. I'm hoping that they'll give me a decent amount on my trade, being as they clearly won't budge off of MSRP for the MDX. If they don't I'll be doing a private sale as well.

You won't have any problem selling that Civic for a good price though (as I'm sure you have found already).

OK, Michigan lost but played pretty well overall. Not sure how PSU did - any update? I would still go for the sticker wager.

On the Civic, put it in the paper on Friday, sold for cash on Sunday with two other buyers wanting it. Cleared much more than was offered for trade-in. :p

I am going tonight to pick up the MDX!!:) I will post pics and impressions in a few days.

Michigan did play pretty well, I thought. The Big 10 is taking a few shots this year -- tough loss for Wisconsin, too.

PSU play UVA in the Thursday night ESPN game. As long as they look respectable, I'll go for the sticker wager -- we'll catch up on Friday.

Oh, and congratulations on the Civic sale / MDX pickup tonight. Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Went last night and picked up the GG. I love the color - it's really growing on me after only 14 hours! Dealer threw in rear mudguards :p but forgot to order the side mouldings in time so they will have to be installed in a day or two.:(

Impresssions (after only about 6 miles):
- smooth ride, quiter than I expected but I haven't been on the highway yet
- the base stereo (while not great) isn't that bad, love those steering-mounted controls
- not sure how the car seat is going to be installed with the strange center seatbelt
- climate control (at least w/o navi) is easier to understand than I expected
- most controls are straightforward (my two previous vehicles are a Honda and a Toyota)
- acceleration is good, not great
- handling is great
- definitely want to get a cargo net and thinking about side steps
davegood
Let me be the first to say congratulations!!!

Let me know what you decide re the side steps, and how it goes with the child seat install, as I will have to figure out both in a couple of months.
AtlantaMDX
Congrats! Another new owner! :D

One more impression to add:

I finally climbed into the 3rd row and it seems fine for its purpose. I am 6'1". While I am a bit squished back there, it's not too bad if the 2nd row is upright. Kids should be fine especially on short trips. I can't wait to take it on a long trip!

Oh, and I installed the car seat in center, 2nd row. On drives last night and this morning, I never noticed the belt running to the ceiling.

Dongrats! I have two tips for you: 1) as for side steps, I would take a close look at the Manik Polished SS Side Steps, they are awesome. You can see lots of pics of mine by clicking on my website link in my signature block below. 2) Take it easy for awhile until you get used to the width of the vehicle. I found out the hard way that the edriver's side rear view mmirror folds backwards towards the front of the vehicle :p I was trying to get get straightened out in a parking garage spot at work, and while I was backing up, a concret pole caught the edge of my mirror and folded it up! I knew it folded inwards but not the other way too. Fortunately I have black mirrors and it left no mark, although you can feel some slight roughness on the inner lip of the mirror hhousing. Anyhow, what I'm trying to say; is the width will take some getting used to, so be careful and enjoy!
A2MDXer
You are right about the width - I had to clean up my garage a bit to fit in. I am moving up from a RAV4 so both the width and length are an adjustment. I am waiting for a month or two on the side steps to see if I really need them. They certainly look great on black. If I get sidesteps it will likely be the Maniks. Once I get the side moldings installed I will post pics.
GatorGreg
Yeah, I'm still trying to clean up my garage to make more room :p My wife and I can fit both our cars in the garage, but it will be a tight fit until I finish the clean up. Actually, we are one of the few houses on my street that has all of its cars in the garage. My neighbors' with Land Cruisers, Expeditions, Tahoes, etc...all leave them in the driveway presumably cuz they won't fit :D I know from experience here in Fla that the sun will quickly take its toll on cars unless they are garaged, so the ability of the 'X to fit in most standard garages is a nice plus. Anothher nice thing about the Manik's (which may also be true of the OEM steps, I don't know) is it will block some (nnot all) doors from hitting my 'X, including the doors on my wife's car (whew! :p ). The bottom of her doors will hit the Maniks first, while the mid section of her doors remain about a half inch away from my pprecious black pearl paint. I have mine installed about as close as possible too, so they mighht even provide more protection if II reinstalled them as far out as they go.
A2MDXer
Thanks for the input - it might be worth it for that reason alone. So far I like the clean lines but I am worried about the dings. I decided to post one pic as a before shot (I tried to keep the image size small):

Finally!!! Ordered in June. Arrived at the dealers today!!!!!!!! Will pick it up on Saturday. GG Touring w/ running boards and mud flaps. Ordered all seasons mats from McNeil. Tomorrow will call Tim for a bunch of goodies. Watch this space!!
A2MDXer
Look at those GGs roll in...I have only had mine a few days but love it so far. Give us your initial impressions after a few drives. Also, be sure to check out the "delivery checklist" threads for things to check out when you pick it up.
GatorGreg
That's a nice pic of your 4,328 lb baby girl :p However, I suspect she's closer in weight to my 4,387 lb baby boy (with Touring Package) since you added the roof rack :) GG is a lovely color, enjoy!
A2MDXer
I thought the rack was a necessity. Now I need to find a good bike rack attachment for the spring.

It's interesting how the color changes depending on the light. The photo posted above is a sunny day while this is just a bit after sunrise. I love it either way.
