| Need to buy a new vehicle this week. Can't find any 07 MDXs with entertainment and Tech left in Texas. I'd go elsewhere for a really good deal. One dealer quoted $44,850 on an '08, another quoted $46+ (both plus TTL). I'm going to look at the better priced dealer today and then will shop it around Houston/San Antonio/Austin? Comments? |

Look in the 2007 MDX thread. There are others who are posting much better prices than this. It really seems to be a regional thing. |

07 and 08 Prices
Dealer's actual (in person) Offer to me yesterday:
07 Nimbus Gray Tech/Entertainment-MSRP $46365, Invoice $42,094, Offer to me: $44, 898. Last 07 they have, and I think they are having trouble selling it. I didn't counter (yet).
08 Nimbus Gray tech/Entertainment-MSRP $46,610, Invoice $42397, Offer to me: $45,953. Only thing diffreent than 07 was the mirror.
I'm not impressed with either quote. What do you all think? Thanks.
(Nothing extra on either vehicle) |

Don't pay over invoice for that 07, in fact you should be paying a few hundred under invoice.
On the 08, a few hundred over invoice is a good deal, anything else, I would walk. |

If you're in the San Antonio area, Gunn Acura is a fair dealer. His service operation does a great job. I would take other offers to them to beat. This may be worth it only if you live in the area.
Good Luck! |

08 Pricing Update
Got serious collecting pricing info yesterday, and boy can it save you money. My lowest three prices on an 08 Silver or Gray with Taupe, Tech/Entertainment are:
$44,900
$44,369
$44,069
I'm waiting to hear back from the two higher priced dealers as those were their first offers whereas the current low price dealer started at 45,700 but said they'd beat any deal I got by $300. So I called them on it, and at least on paper they have (so far).
These prices are in Dallas and San Antonio.
Wasn't sure about putting dealer's names in the post, but if anyone wants them, let me know.

I am in contract on an 08 MDX Sport in the new Sterling Grey Metalic color. The transaction is in California (Power Acura South Bay) and was negotiated through CarsDirect.com
The cars direct price in this zip code was pretty good. The problem I had with competing dealers is that they wanted a fortune to install the dealer accessories. Cars direct had what I think are GREAT prices on the accessories.
I know I could get a 2007 for a bit less but I wanted the new color and I figured the 2008 is worth a bit more as it is not a year old yet.
Here are the exact figures. The accessory prices include installation.
08 MDX Sport: $43,256
Sport Run Boards: 559.85
Roof Rails & Cross Bars: 409.34
Lower Front Garnish: 328.90
Body Side Molding: 247.75
Cargo Cover: 137.37
Cargo tray: $123.07
Bicycle Receiver: 570.80
Total: $45,633.08 Plus tax/license
Note, the bicycle reciever is instead of the towing package. Its a bit cheaper and I can plug in a bike rack just like you would plug in a towing ball/hitch. It is not suitable for towing as far as I know. Certainly it does not include the wiring necessary for towing a trailer. Note also that the roof rails and cross bars are apparently offered at a package price for 2008. Previously I have always seen them priced independently.
Hope this helps. |

I would hope for this price what you received was the hitch without the wiring harness. |

Yes, I believe that is the only difference. I will be picking up the car Monday. |

Chaos.
Where in NJ are you getting those quotes? I'm in NYC and starting to gather information, but I'd head down to Jersey if the dealer wasn't too far south.
Thanks,

Chaos,
Sorry, you can ignore that question. Just saw your post in another thread listing Springfield and Bridgewater.
Thanks,

Mike,
You need to bargain with them. first they start at MSRP..down to 900 above invoice price...tell them if any thing less than invoice you will buy it. ask for more incentive like accessories..
What I have done is got the internet prices.. then negotiated on the price.
