| I just got a call from a local dealer to give me $1000 cash back or 2.9%APR if I want to purchase 07 MDX. I know 2.9% APR has been there for quite awhile, but $1000 cash back is new to me. Do Acura offer $1000 back for the remaining 07 models? |

Edmunds.com did not list any cash back only special lease rates on the '07 MDX.
No cash back or other incentives on the Acura web site.

Or a "mistake" on the dealer's part.
"Oh, I'm sorry it looks like the $1000 cash back is only good on RDX,RL and TSXs. But I can still make a good deal on an MDX".... Just a thought. |

There are a few possibilities:
1) the dealers best price is $1000 higher than any other dealer, then they give you $1000 back.
2) If the $1000 IS $1000 lower than any other dealer and you take it, they can finance you at slightly lower than the going interest rate (approx 6%) and keep the amount above 2.9%. They would net approx 3% interest. That would mean $1500 for the dealer if you financed 30K for 36 months. After giving you the $1000, the dealer nets $500. |
