Thats a pretty ambitious number for an '05 with Nav. Good luck!

I just paid 23500 for a 04 Touring with 50k in what I call good condition. Couple of scratches couple of dings perfect interior no Nav or RES. If it had been at the dealer it would have been a couple of grand higher

Wow, let me know if you find 1 at that price and I'll buy two of'em.

Well, you might have figured out, I have never bought an acura before so I did not realize how much these vehicles hold their values. In either case, I got a great deal in my opinion

I got a clean black 04 with 55k miles with navigation with certified warranty for $24,000. Also has spoiler and running board and aftermarket dvd player.

The down side, I had to fly up to washington DC to see it. I figured if I am already up there why pay for shipping. So I bought a lot of coffee and drove it home to FLorida.

Yes, is that a good or bad thing??

I found them on the web. Their prices are very good compared to what I see else where.

Their preowned website is www.justacuras.com

Their main website is http://www.radleyauto.com/ou/fallschurch-acura/

They understood I was coming from florida and set aside time for me.

I wish I was living in DC to use them for service. Their service department stays open till 2am!!!

So after work you can drop your car off and pick it up before you go to work the following day.

Oh, definitately not a bad thing. I think anyone would prefer a CPO. I was just curious since I live in the area and was wondering where you got such a good deal. Pretty good mileage, a lot of options and warrant for 24k.

What was their original asking price? And was the price you got out-the-door?

That was their asking price. They would NOT give me a cent off. Basically they said to me the vehicle will be sold for $24,000. The only question is whether I would be the buyer or someone else.

However, there is a $250 discount coupon available when you first go on their main website. Make sure you take that in. They do have a $250 doc preparation fee so at least the discount coupon paid for the doc preparation fee.

One thing that caught my attention while shopping for mdx’s in dc was the Maryland acura dealers bashing the Virginia and DC acura dealers.

I looked at several MDXs in the DC area. Every Maryland dealer I visited, they told me about Maryland’s strict inspection requirement and pointed out that DC and Virginia did not have it. A few even warned that cars were coming from New Orleans with flood damage and were being sold in Virginia and DC but not Maryland.

I thought that was peculiar and very aggressive considering they are all acura dealers.

Is there any truth to this??

I haven't started shopping around yet, but I always assumed you would be able to get some money off. I wonder if that's their attitude towards all their used cars or just the particular one you got.

I don't live in MD or DC so I can't speak to that, but VA emissions inspection laws are strict. The MD safety inspection may be a bit more strict than VA (eg. MD may not pass if your tint is too dark, etc). In the end, I wouldn't hesitate buying a car from VA over MD.

You bought your car from a reputtable dealer, and a acura dealer to say the least. I doubt they would sell "flooded" cars... esp. without disclosing it.

Did you get a carfax report? That may help, but I don't even trust carfax 100% because many things dont get reported, esp. if it wasn't fixed through insurance.

Yup Got a clean car fax report and and a certification report which shows everything that was inspected and done. They claim to have a 250 point inspection which is more than I have heard from any dealer. That may just be marketing though.

I feel the purchase was a good purchase. I think they are willing to negotiate depending on the vehicle. Obvioulsly if you are an internet shopper the room for negotiation is less because the prices are already lower than the sticker price. I think it just depends on the vehicle.

Another thing with Radleys they have a bunch of certified MDX's to choose from where as most of the other dealers I visited had only a handful

Yea, I think you got a good deal too.

Did you see what the sticker price was for your car?
jasguild
The sticker price was what they said the NADA value was which was close to $29k.

I never pay attention to that though. I always thought that was a waste of time and a potential turn off to buyers.

Congrats jasguild on your new MDX.

Just a quick note on buying from a dealer...I've sold my last 5 cars privately and each time the buyers have told me they prefer buying from a private owner because they can hear the story of the vehicle and get a feel for how the car was maintained. Plus, many people equate working with dealers to visiting the dentist.

I do much of my maintenance on my vehicles and have a detailed spreadsheet for everything that has ever been done to the vehicle (both my service and the dealers). A Carfax report won't show if the car was neglected for a few oil changes or missed a tranny refill. To my knowledge, it simply shows each time the VIN# number was entered into a database for service or repairs.

For resale clarification, Honda/Acura is #1. Below are the 2006 rankings, I read Honda/Acura was again #1 for 2007, but I can't seem to find the source. We're on our third straight Acura and resale value and reliability are two of the main reasons.

Industry Brand Residual Value Rankings - 2006
1. Honda
2. Toyota
3. Subaru
4. Volkswagen
5. Mazda
6. Nissan
7. Saturn
8. GMC

So enjoy your MDX for many more depreciation-friendly years :2:
