Hello! First time poster - long-time lurker.
I'm considering an '08 MDX. Re: styling, I'm not crazy about the "shield" grill. Anyone have something else? Looks like a few sources out there for billet, etc.
What I imagine is a black MDX with a blacked-out, de-badged custom grill.
Attached is a pic of current ride.
TIA!

| I was going to paint the shield grill black myself. Have done it to several of my cars previously. |

Man what a great idea if somone could create a billet grille!!! - I hate the cheesy plastic with those absolutely ridiculous dimples...those dimples drive me crazy!!!
I would love to find a way to replace the titanium-colored plastic of "the shield" with a real titanium 2-3mm plate, sand-blasted, perhaps with small perforated holes. I just have no idea where to get such a product/service. |

I'd tried to modify grills on my cars over the years, but never could get that factory-built look.
So the easiest, and safest way for me has been to simply invest in a can of primer and a can of spray paint of the color I wanted (black goes well with everything). Tape up the area of the car/MDX in this case where you don't want to paint and go at it. $7 and a few hrs work and voila. :)
Obtw, I don't have a MDX, yet. Plan to go lurking in Dec. |
