With 2700 miles on 07 Sport MDX, I am now experiencing in the last week a strange clicking noise coming from the front of the MDX....under my feet area.

I have searched the forum and don't see anything that quite matches the issue.

I only notice this when all is quiet in the cabin.....and it does it when I slow down and speed up in teh 15 to 20 mph range. It sounds like it is right in front of me, but under the floor. Seems to be worse when turning....if I slowed at a green light and turned right, it would make this sound about 3 times.

It doesn't sound like a seat creak, my X is free of rattles(so far), and I have nothing in my glove box or center console (I cleaned out the car). I get the ABS thing when I back out of the garage, but this is after driving no matter how long.

I had 3 work passengers I took to lunch today, and they all heard it numerous times around town.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I contact the dealer.

Thanks.

Ideas = none.
Suggestion = 1. Turn the radio to on & this time try to listen to some music, not some unknown clicking noise.

Well the good news is that your friends can hear it, which means that your service advisor should be able to hear it as well. Nothing irks me more than reading "could not duplicate problem" on a service receipt, only to hear/feel/experience it five minutes after leaving the garage.

1st and foremost, that is what the dealer is for! Have them drive it and find the problem. But I think it sounds like you are describing the problem with the right front strut or a problem with the combination switch on the steering column. Both problems have TSB's for them.

TSB 07-002 is for the clicking while turning the wheel.

SYMPTOM
You hear a clicking sound when turning the steering
wheel to the left or to the right.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The combination switch assembly is misaligned.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Realign the combination switch assembly.

TSB 07-014

SYMPTOM
During turns, a buzz or rattle comes from the right front
area of the suspension.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The right-front damper spring is contacting the inner
fenderwell.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the right-front damper spring.

However, this TSB does not apply to sport models so it may be the switch problem. Hope that helps you.

I don't think its the issue, but thanks. I will try to get an appt with the dealer to check it out. I have just found that it is much better if I know what the issue is that needs to be fixed rather than relying on them as that always takes numerous trips. Oh well.

I'm also experiencing a similar issue. It seems to only happen when I first start the car in the morning. I hear and feel the clicking noise within the brakes and gas pedal area.

Since I can't consistently duplicate it, I'm holding off in bringing it to the dealer.

The clicking noises are come from the brakes, call Acura Cus. Serv. open a case with them, they will let you know when parts available to replace, I heard around mid Oct.
The clicking noises happened to many Acura MDX 2007, Honda Odyssey.
Also poping sound from speaker, you can heard sometime.
Good luck.

What you're describing may just be the ABS cycling through its self-test. It does this at startup, but only for a moment. If your X is continually making these sounds, then you should definitely take it in.

Yeah, I was going to call dealer today but got tied up in meetings all day. Will call tomorrow.

It is not an ABS check.

It is getting progressively worse which is worrying me, however, the X is driving fine. I do think it may be the brakes....but it sounds like something has come loose under the front of the truck and is clanging back and forth, but you can't see anything wrong. When in town, with foot off the brake, it makes at least two clanks accelerating from the stop and at least 2 to 3 more times coming to a stop at the next intersection. I came home from work and picked up my son and headed back down our drive (we live on top of a hill...drive is pretty steep) on the way down it sounded as though the bottom of the truck was going to fall out with all the creaking and clanging. Very unnerving.
